Post by: Anjum on September 06, 2016, 05:38:25 PM
Salam All,

I came across this verse, and i am not able to figure out what it says, hope you guys can help me out..

"God has created four kinds of livestock of either sex: two of sheep and two of goats. Ask them, 'Is it the two males He has forbidden or the two females or what the wombs of the two females contain? Tell me on the basis of knowledge, if you are truthful."

According the above verse, does that mean, we are not allowed to eat male goats or something like that?..m lil confused..kindly clear it please...

Regards,
Anjum

Peace be upon you sister. 6:143 can't be taken without those around it. Take it with 6:138, to 146, and see that it's about those that state "such and such is forbidden" without evidence. In some of those, such as 6:145 our Lord tells us what is forbidden to us which doesn't include that of 6:143 (or 144). (and in 6:146 some of what He forbid the people of Hud).
