Title: Khasar Prayers for traveling person
Post by: Sardar Miyan on October 18, 2015, 06:57:15 AM
If a Muslim is traveling he had shorten prayers to half. But is strange to note that shortened they prayers they perform their Suunah prayers in full. Why are Muslims shortens  the obligatory and perform other prayers in full?

As-salamu alaykum brother Sardar Miyan,

Yes, such apparent inconsistencies do give rise to questions such as yours. As you may know, these strange observations are arguably a result of when many set aside the Quran's guidance for man made laws.

The allowance for shortening prayers in the Quran is only given during times of fear / danger. I have covered the general topic in the following article:

SHORTENING OF PRAYERS

Shortening of prayers by simply leaving one's town does not entitle the Muslims to shorten their Salath but  there must a danger from unbelievers.
