Dear Brother Joseph,

Peace.

According to your study, how would you explain the way Quran deals with injustice and suffering in this world (in spite of an All Powerful God fully in control)? There is suffering which is man made by which man reaps what he sows, but things happen to people and nations (like famine, natural disasters, disease, tsunamis, birth of crippled children, death of infants and mothers or fathers of infants) etc. etc.

I would first consider what would happen to the laws of nature and logic IF the above things did not occur, e.g. no areas of the earth where people lived ever suffered a natural disaster and only uninhabited places did so etc etc.

Consider in conjunction with verses, e.g.[48:17], [6:165] etc.

Salaam Wakas,

Considering the verses 48:17 and 6:165, brings to mind then, why does God want to test us?

Whatever the Divine wisdom is behind the tests, we are told to live the life we were given which will be full of ups and downs, highs and lows, and with pain and joy.  Man was created weak 4-28, 30-54; greedy 70-19-21; impatient 21-37.  Loss, pain, betrayal, suffering  at times can be eye openers to serve as healing agents, attitude or behavior modifiers.  Sometimes we have to hit the bottom before realizing the  pit we dug ourselves in. It is hoped that we become strong, kind, compassionate and faithful.  A process of spiritual, mental and moral evolution.  No pain no gain!

Peace,

2. Define the human's charecteristcs.
3. Define the God's charecteristcs.
4. Then maybe you will see something intresting.
