Title: No Prayers
Post by: wanderer on October 10, 2016, 06:42:56 AM
Salaam everyone. So I've seen, all around this website, rebuttles from Joseph Islam of various Quranist groups who allegedly reject prayers, fasting, etc. My question is, who are these people??? Do they even really exist?? Personally, I have a hard time believing it.

Shalom / peace ..... you know that it would be unlikely that brother Joseph would make a claim if didn't exist unless he is gravely mistaken which as a fallible person he could be ... However >>>>.. Believe it ... they exist and there many groups and people that do this ...... Here is one example .... quote is in the article below .....

http://quransmessage.com/articles/invented%20prayer%20FM3.htm

There is also a huge debate here .... another splinter group from which some say that salaat only means follow the Quran ....all on this website bro!

http://quransmessage.com/forum/index.php?topic=15.msg26#msg26

Here they are rejecting fasting .....

Then there is a really dodgy group in my opinion .....called Astaana .... My word - in my view what they have done to the Quran's message is unbelievable ....I say it to people .... probe them at your own peril..... just my two cents.!!!!

I'm sorry, I didn't meant to cast aspirtions on Brother Joseph's character. I was just shocked how someone could claim to follow the Quran and say this. So how do they try to justify this from the Quran??

Shalom / peace wanderer ... no problem  8)

>>>> Yes they do ... and their claims are so unbelievable... i find them twisting the meanings of Arabic words ..... biggest problem with them ... on one side they talk about only using the Quran ...... and then they talk about lexicons and dictionaries and grammar rules which none of the Quran teaches ........>>>all that is from later sources anyway .... so they are disingenuous to their own approach !!!! .... They suck too many ppl into their thinking >>>>

Have a look at their fasting one ... see how disingenuous their  argument and how they got personal when brother Joseph kept questioning their position!

Yes, there are groups that think prayer doesn't exist. There are also people who think drinking alcohol is allowed, like this:

http://www.free-minds.org/alcohol-quran

Even though alcohol is called an "abomination of Satan" according to the Yusuf Ali translation. I've seen quite a few arguments from people who think fasting doesn't mean fasting, and prayer doesn't mean prayer, etc. It's completely ridiculous.
