Salaamun Alaykum,

Does anyone know if 7:189-190 is referring specifically to Adam and Eve (PBUT) or a general sentiment of any fallible human is being captured in these verses?

Personally, i think, as you said: "a general sentiment of any fallible human" is more appropriate when you also read the ayat before and after 189-190. Allah(swt) knows best.
