Title: Does Quran instruct to use a uniform for Muslim men and women?

Dear Brother Joseph
Salamun Alaikum. Does Quran sanction uniform for a Muslim ?
Loose long shirt and trouser and round cap and keep long beard is our traditional Muslim dress.
So when a man wear this dress all the time we think the person is very pious .
So many people do crime behind this pious dress . What really Quran says regarding this uniform ?

Salaam,

There is not really a uniform as such for Muslims, primarily because they come from such diverse backgrounds and cultures. Obviously a Muslim women who wears a headscarf will be recognized by her faith but the instruction for modesty applies to both genders and this can be achieved with different types of clothing.

However the Arabs do have a tradition of wearing long length robes and there is mention of this in the Quran and this article may be of interest to you:
