Title: How do the Angels Possess Knowledge of the Future About a Soul?

Salaamun Alaikum.

I have a question regarding verse 16:32 which I am trying to work out. Who will be those with the glad tidings pre-judgement day, or do the angels posses the knowledge of future?

Salamun Alaikum,

Verse 16:32 is connected with the theme of 16:30-31 and in particular, runs with 16:31. The righteous referenced are those to whom felicity / gardens of eden have been assigned (So this is a future reference). 16:32 is elucidating who these people are, i.e. 'Those whom the Angels took in a good state'.

This elucidation is given by the Arabic 'alladhina' (Those whom).

Therefore, the angelic comments will be passed to those who they took in a goodly state on Earth but once the judgment is complete and they enter the Gardens.

Hopefully when you read it as a continuous dialogue, the point will become clearer, God willing.
