Title: recognition of beauty
Post by: HOPE on September 03, 2012, 03:57:08 AM
Salaam all,

I was wondering how the Prophet would have recognized and appreciated the beauty of a woman if she was covered from head to toe?

33:52  It is not lawful for you to marry more women after this, nor to change them for other wives, even though their beauty may please you, except any that your right hand possesses. God is watchful over all things.

Salam Bro , This is the Aya which is taken to explain that the face of women need not be covered. There is an Aya about women to cover their  bosom (upper body) with cloth , over garmen when they go out .No covering head or face. Why is Face covering is not there for women during HAj ? As per some Secodary source women used to do Wadu in Masjid alongwith men.

Salaam brother Sardar Miyan,

Thank you for your reply  although it was a rhetorical question.  Jahilliyah buried baby girls alive, non-Jahilliyah buries adult version of baby girls in black sacks in the name of libasu attaqwa.

NoVeil ,No Naqab,No Burqa,No Parda
-----------------------------
1- As pre Aya 24:30 Men are asked to lower their Gaze
If women use Veil where is the need for lowering the Gaze ?
2-There is no Veil ,Naqab,Burqa
      Screen for Women during HAJ!!
3-During the period of Prophet SA
Men & Women used to do wadu
Together
4- 33:59 wives,daughters&
Believing women put over garment
so that they may be identified
5-  33:52  Prophet  was asked
not to take any more wife even if he is inspired of beauty. Inspiration of
Beauty comes only after seeing the
Girl/ Woman!!!!! Where is Parda?

Salam all,

Maybe its just me, but I'm a bit confused with this thread  :o

I understand Hope's post as a rhetorical question and to show that actually full coverage could not be possible on the basis of 33:52? I mean how could the Prophet appreciate someone's beauty if the woman was fully covered right?

So dear br. Sardar - I am not sure why you are trying to prove the absence of full veil when I think Hope already agrees with you??

Maybe I've got it all wrong, in case I'm sorry  :-\   Saba

Peace. This is the verse I often quote to those who believe that women must cover their face!

However, the hadith followers always have a "Yes, but" reply.  Some come back to say that the word Husn refers to a balanced personality and not necessarily outer beauty. Those familiar with the language say it refers to both inner and outer beauty.

Another way to look at the issue is why, in the worlds largest mixed gathering (Hajj) women don't cover their faces?

I think in certain countries the point of walking around with a niqab defeats the purpose of the Burqa. Which is not to attract unwanted attention. It fails miserably on this count alone!!
