Dear Brother Joseph,

Salam.

Can you kindly elaborate by explaining what the term "I respond to the prayer of every suppliant when he calls Me?"

We all know we don't get what we ask for in our prayers!!

So what do the Arabic words used in this verse imply?

The Arabic 'ujibu' from the verb 'ajaba' means to answer or to give a response. It is similar to the noun 'jawab' from the same root which means 'an answer'.

Simply, we need to accept that sometimes God's answer (jawab) is 'No'.

If we have true faith and trust in God, we should be willing to accept that the 'no' is for very good reason and accept His response.
