Discussions / ilm ul rijal (Knowledge of men)
« on: July 05, 2016, 11:24:30 AM »
Peace to all

There is much criticism regarding the authenticity of the Hadith books. As we all know, Hadiths, most of them if not all, are shaped the biography of Muhammad. The authenticity of these Hadiths are based on ilm ul rijal, which is basically the biography of the narrators. The authenticity of the Hadiths are connected to the authenticity of the biography of the narrators. If the biography of the narrators are authentic, then there is a less chance of fabrication in Hadith books. Having that in mind, I would like to ask the following questions:

  • Who wrote or narrated the biography of the narrators?
  • Are they (Those who wrote or narrated the biography of the narrators) reliable?

General Discussions / Contextual Problems in Quran[55:xx]
« on: February 01, 2016, 07:55:49 AM »
Peace to all

In Q[55:1-13], the text is focused on human beings (Inns), no mention of JAn, and in Q[55:13], it immediately switches to both humans and JAn.

In Q[55:18-21], it talks about separation of two waters, which is a favor for humans and hardly a favor for JAns, still addresses both in Q[55:21].

In Q[55:22:23], what would be the use of pearl and coral for JAns? Because, it addresses both Inns and JAn in Q[55:23].

In Q[55:24:25], How do JAns sail in the waters and use vessels? Because, it addresses both Inns and JAn in Q[55:25].

In Q[55:56, 72, 74], talks about Houris, Undeflowered, again, addresses both Inns and JAn in the next verse.

Are JAns in need of water, garden, fruits, vessels, houris and other things which are visible things and not transparent? Or, there is a contextual problem here. Any explanation?

Thanks!

Peace to all

If any of your women are guilty of lewdness, Take the evidence of four witnesses from amongst you against them; and if they testify, confine them to houses until death do claim them, or God ordain for them some (other) way. Q[4:15]

If any of you have not the means wherewith to wed free believing women, they may wed believing girls from among those whom your right hands possess: And God has full knowledge about your faith. You are one from another: Wed them with the leave of their owners, and give them their dowers, according to what is reasonable: They should be chaste, not lustful, nor taking paramours: when they are taken in wedlock, if they commit lewdness, their punishment is half that for free women. This is for those among you who fear sin; but it is better for you that you practice self-restraint. And God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. Q[4:25]

In Q[4:15], punishment for lewdness is lifetime prison, and in Q[4:24] half of lifetime prison. How do we know what/how-much is half of lifetime prison when we don't know when a person/woman will die?

General Discussions / Believers and Submitters
« on: January 15, 2016, 02:27:00 AM »
Peace to all

The Arabs say, "We have believed." Say, "You have not believed; but say, 'We have submitted,' for faith has not yet entered your hearts. And if you obey God and His Messenger, He will not deprive you from your deeds of anything. Indeed, God is Forgiving and Merciful." Q[49:14][1]
The believers are only the ones who have believed in God and His Messenger and then doubt not but strive with their properties and their lives in the cause of God. It is those who are the truthful. Q[49:15][2]
Say, "Would you acquaint God with your religion while God knows whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, and God is Knowing of all things?" Q[49:16][3]
They consider it a favor to you that they have Submitted. Say, "Do not consider your Submission a favor to me. Rather, God has conferred favor upon you that He has guided you to the faith, if you should be truthful." Q[49:17][4]

Is there a contradiction in Q[49:14] and Q[49:17]? In Q[49:14], it says "faith has not yet entered your hearts" and in Q[49:17], to the same audience, Arabs, it says "God has conferred favor upon you that He has guided you to the faith". Or Believers and Submitters are the same, with no difference at all? Any thoughts?

Thanks

Salaam to All

Here is the translation of Quran[33:60-62]:

If the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is disease and those who spread rumors in al-Madinah do not cease, We will surely incite you against them; then they will not remain your neighbors therein except for a little.
Accursed wherever they are found, [being] seized and massacred completely.
[This is] the established way of God with those who passed on before; and you will not find in the way of God any change.

According to Quran[5:32], death penalty is only allowed for case of murder and corruption in the land. Spreading rumors and being a hypocrite clearly is not act of murder, does Quran consider the act of Spreading rumors and state of being a hypocrite corruption in the land?

When I compare Quran[49:14][1] with other verses of the Quran which talk about hypocrites, it makes me a little bit confuse. According to Quran[63:1][2], hypocrites are those who claim to be believers but they are not. Quran[49:14] say something similar about 'Araab. Why Quran promise salvation for one group of hypocrites (Quran[49:14]) and not for the other group (Quran[63:1-x])?

General Discussions / The Meaning of Fitna
« on: December 18, 2015, 07:02:16 AM »
Salaam to All

The word Fitna is mostly interpreted as disbelieve to justify war against non-Muslims.

I have two questions:
  • What is the meaning of Fitna from classic Arabic Dictionaries? It would be helpful if someone has all the possible meanings.
  • What is the meaning of Fitna from the context of the Quranic verses? Which meaning of the word actually fit better in which verse, while taking in count the context?

Thanks in advance!

The video below explains the meaning of word "Kheemar" used in Quran[24:1]
https://youtu.be/AALgGKSnU2g

Are those claims made in the video regarding the meaning of the word from a linguistic perspective true?

An article in this website, explains the word "Kheemar", but does not cover claims made in the video.

I was reading an article titled "Time & Space"[1], but there would be contradiction with Quran[67:16-17][2] and Quran[32:5][3].

Quran[9:123][1] is often used to justify attacks on non-Muslim neighborhoods. Although the context and subject of Surah 9[2] is clear, but I'm having a hard time to find a good interpretation and context in order to reconcile it with other verses such as Quran[60:9][3]. For any share of thought I will be grateful. Thanks in advance.

General Discussions / Resurrection from grave
« on: September 26, 2015, 03:10:06 AM »
Salaam All

I've found a possible contradiction and an indescribable passage. If any member want to share his/her idea regarding this issue, I will appreciate.

The possible contradiction:
  • God will create us in a new creation and new form1.
  • God will assemble our bones2 and will repair us, That is, God will repair the rotten bones, in other words, we will rise from graves repaired3.

Question: Is there a new creation in new unknown form with new materials or repair of current body with current materials?

The indescribable passage: (Main topic)

If God is going to Resurrect us from graves, and recreate us similar to Quran(2:259)4, then what about those who don't have any grave, those who are burned, eaten by animals, old graves which maybe their bones turned into grass and fruits by natural processes and directly or indirectly consumed constantly by other humans and in the result their bones are shared among different people of different generations.

Question: Can anyone describe this?

Peace and regards.

Note: I don't mean any critics nor want to debate.
