Assalamu alaykom all,

In the "THE APOCALYPSE OF ABRAHAM", an Ascension of Prophet ABRAHAM has been described,

With regarde verse 17:1 "Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al- Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing."

Some may think that this Verse is talking about Prophet ABRAHAM as"His Servant".

Also the context of the chapter continue by talking about prophet Moses.

Do you think that this is a possibility ?

Quote

The apocalyptic part opens with a divine command to Abraham to prepare a sacrifice with
a view to receiving a divine revelation concerning the future (chap. ix.). Abraham,
terrified at the experience, is confronted by the angel Jaoel, who encourages him, and explains
his commission to be with Abraham, and act as his celestial guide. Under the direction of the
angel he proceeds to Horeb, the Mount of God, a journey of forty days (chaps. x.-xii.), and
there, with the help of Jaoel, accomplishes the sacrifice. At this point Azazel, the fallen
archangel and seducer of mankind, intervenes and attempts to dissuade Abraham from his
purpose. In the form of an unclean bird he flies down “upon the carcasses” (cf. Gen. xv. II),
and tries to induce Abraham to leave the holy place, but in vain. Jaoel denounces the evil
spirit, bidding him depart, and telling him that the heavenly garment which was formerly his
has been set aside for Abraham (chaps. xiii.-xiv.).

After this Abraham and the angel ascend on the wings of the unslaughtered birds (of the
sacrifice) to heaven, which is described at length. It is filled with “a strong light” of power
inexpressible, and there they see the angels who are born and disappear daily, after singing
their hymn of praise (chaps. xv.-xvi.). At this point Abraham, hearing the divine voice, falls
prostrate, and, taught by the angel, utters the celestial song of praise, and prays for enlightenment
(chap. xvii.). He sees the divine throne with the Cherubim and the holy Creatures
(hayyoth), of whom a description is given, and particularly of their rivalry which is mitigated by
the activity of Jaoel (chap. xviii.). God now speaks and discloses to Abraham the powers of
heaven in the various firmaments below (chap. xix.). God promises him a seed numerous as
the stars (chap. xx.). In answer to a question by Abraham about Azazel, God shows him a
vision of the world, its fruits and creatures, the sea and its monsters (including Leviathan), the
Garden of Eden, its fruits, streams, and blessedness. He sees also a multitude of human beings
“half of them on the right side of the picture, and half of them on the left” (chap. xxi.).

The fall of man is explained to him, being traced to the sin of Adam and Eve in the Garden, a
vision of which appears in the picture and also of its results upon the destinies of mankind, who
are divided into the people on the right side of the picture, representing the Jewish world, and
the people on the left representing the heathen world. In particular the sin of idolatry resulting
in impurity and murder is sketched and made manifest (chaps. xxii.-xxv.).The question, why
sin is permitted, is answered by God (chap. xxvi.), and this is followed by a vision of judgement
in which the destruction of the Temple is pourtrayed. In answer to Abraham’s anguished
question it is explained to him that this is due to the sin of idolatry on the part of his seed. At
the same time a hint is given him of coming salvation (chap. xxvii.). In answer to the question,
how long shall the judgement last? a description is given of the troubles preceding the
Messianic Age, and the dawn of the latter (chaps. xxviii.-xxix.; the latter chapter contains a
long Christian interpolation). At this point Abraham finds himself “upon the earth,” but
receives a further disclosure regarding the punishment of the heathen and the ingathering of
Israel (chaps. xxx.-xxxi.). A short paragraph repeating the promise of the chosen people’s
deliverance from oppression closes the Book (chap. xxxii.).

Discussions / Hadith vs New Testament
« on: May 15, 2015, 07:01:43 AM »
Assalamu alaykom,

My wife asked me an interesting question today, and I must admit that I couldn't answer.

The logic is the follwing :

The  New Testament did not even begin being written down until decades after Jesus was gone. The earliest not before 70 A.D.

Also there are various editions of the Bible. The Orthodox, Catholic , Coptic and Protestant Bibles all have different amounts of books.

Equally the hadith itself is not a revelation but has been written after the death of Prophet Mohammad also with different versions.

So what is the value of the New Testament in light of its similarity to the hadith literature and vice versa ?

Meaning that if someone where in the time after prophet Jesus was gone, would he think that New Testament is not a revelation but only "Hadith" with different versions, that do not have support compared to the Old Testament ?

Many thanks for sharing your thoughts,

Salam,
Mehdi

Assalamou Alaykum,

I've been reading an interesting verse :
14:37  Our Lord, I have settled some of my descendants in an uncultivated valley near Your sacred House, our Lord, that they may establish prayer. So make hearts among the people incline toward them and provide for them from the fruits that they might be grateful.

Is this a possible hint for the location of some Descendants of Prophet Abraham (pbuh), more precisely "Bani Ishmael"  ?
I have already read Brother Joseph article regarding this subject (http://quransmessage.com/articles/are%20the%20arabs%20descendants%20of%20abraham%20FM3.htm), But couldn't find a mention of this particular verse

We can note some points :
- The location is "bayt al muharam" (Makkah)
- Some (not all) Descendants of Prophet Abraham (pbuh) were living (settled) there
- They were not alone, other peoples were with them (living there before their coming)

Thanks,
Mehdi.

Discussions / Are Christians allowed to consume swine flesh ?
« on: March 06, 2015, 05:23:10 AM »
Assalamou alaykum,

A Christian Friend explained to me that Jesus allowed Chrsitians to consume any Flesh. He quoted the following Bible's verses :

Acts 10
10 And he became very hungry and would have eaten; but while they were making ready he fell into a trance,
11 and saw heaven opened and a certain vessel descending unto him as though it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners and let down to the earth,
12 wherein were all kinds of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts and creeping things and fowls of the air.
13 And there came a voice to him, “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.”
14 But Peter said, “Not so, Lord, for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.”
15 And the voice spoke unto him again the second time, “What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.”
16 This was done thrice, and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

Timothy 4
3 forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.
4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused if it be received with thanksgiving;
5 for it is sanctified by the Word of God and prayer.

Can we say That these verses have been alterated by time and are not the real God's word ?

General Discussions / Do not take the disbelievers as allies ?
« on: March 16, 2014, 11:35:31 PM »
Assalamou 'alaykom everybody,

Please can anyone clarify things for me :

And when you see those who engage in [offensive] discourse concerning Our verses, then turn away from them until they enter into another conversion. And if Satan should cause you to forget, then do not remain after the reminder with the wrongdoing people 6:68

O you who have believed, take not those who have taken your religion in ridicule and amusement among the ones who were given the Scripture before you nor the disbelievers as allies. And fear Allah , if you should [truly] be believers. 5:57

Can someone please go deeper in explaining these verses ? I have many friends not following Islam. Sometimes I go out with them (restaurant, Hotel...) and they are drinking, dressing badly, saying bad things...

So question is : Can we stay with those who drink or when they are dressed badly (some nudity..) ? Also how far can we go ? for example Going to a Cinema to watch movie which have nudity and bad sequences... Can we be friends with them (allies) ?

With Peace,

Mehdi

Assalamou Alaykom,

Allah destroyed the city of the Jews :
And We conveyed to the Children of Israel in the Scripture that, "You will surely cause corruption on the earth twice, and you will surely reach [a degree of] great haughtiness. 17:4
So when the [time of] promise came for the first of them, We sent against you servants of Ours - those of great military might, and they probed [even] into the homes, and it was a promise fulfilled. 17:5

If they return, then it will be with the help of Yajuj and Majuj :
And there is prohibition upon [the people of] a city which We have destroyed that they will [ever] return (Quran 21:95) Until
when [the dam of] Gog and Magog has been opened and they, from every elevation, descend.  21:96

When we read from 21:89 To 21:105, in my humble opinion and of a lot of scholars, it seems  that Allah is talking about the return of the Jews to their country with the help of the Criminal Zionists, the proclamation and the existence of the racist and oppressive state of Israël should be a Big proof of the release of Yajuj and Majuj but also of the coming of the end of time.

If not, and as the Quran has been sent down  as clarification for all things (tibna lakum AAan shay-in), we should agree that the event of the return of the Jews to their country is so new and so big that we should find in the Quran a reference. How can we explain this event ?

General Discussions / Cure diseases Like Cancer with Quran
« on: December 30, 2012, 07:12:33 PM »
Assalamou Alaykom wa RahmatouAllah, Peace and mercy of god be with you

There is some peoples claiming that they can cure Organic diseases Like Cancer, with Quran and water/oil , they base their augmentations with some verses :

"And We send down of the Qur'an that which is healing and mercy for the believers, but it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss" (17:82)
"And if We had made it a non-Arabic Qur'an, they would have said, "Why are its verses not explained in detail [in our language]? Is it a foreign [recitation] and an Arab [messenger]?" Say, "It is, for those who believe, a guidance and cure." And those who do not believe - in their ears is deafness, and it is upon them blindness. Those are being called from a distant place." (41:44)

Prophet Jesus was healing also by Allah permission, so can someone heal also by Allah permission by reciting specific Verses from the Quran ? (http://kaheel7.com/eng/index.php/secrets-of-quran-a-sunnah/69-the-power-of-quran-healing)

I personally think that the cure of the Quran is present in the Quran himself, meaning that when Allah talk about Honey or fasting for example, we know that this is a cure for many diseases .

BarakAllahou Fikom/ Thank you all,

Mehdi.

General Discussions / Some Questions
« on: December 13, 2012, 05:03:20 AM »
Assalamou Alaykom Brother Joseph,

I have some question, I would be really very grateful if you can give me your view on them :

- Can we pays taxes in a country that we know for sure that one part will go to oppress and kill our brothers (example like Muslims living in USA, so they are financing war against Iraq, Afghanistan and support Zionist terrorist state ?)
If we consider taxes as zakat, so our zakat is going in some part to the wrong way ?

- Can we eat/stay with someone drinking alcohol in the same table ? It's some kind of support as they feel that if we are staying with them, they are not doing something really wrong ?
- What do you think about insurance (Health or Life.. Insurance) ? Is it like gambling ?
- What do you think about Islamic Banks ? do you think they hide interest/usury behind the "Mourabaha" solution ?
- can we consider Bahia peoples as Muslims knowing that  all their rules (payer, fasting...) are different from Muslims ? are they misguided ?
- Can we celebrate Christmas , (End-of-the-Year) and other religions ceremony even if we are Muslims ?
- In the Qur’an (al-Anbiyah, 21:96) , can Y’ajuj  and M’ajuj have been released into the world by Allah, Most High, . The Qur’an declared that in consequence of this, a people who had been expelled from a ‘town’ which was destroyed by Allah, Most High (Like Israel), and whose return was prohibited, would now return to that ‘town’ to reclaim it (As it's happening know with Israel) ? As Allah says that Qur’an contains every explanation  would it be this the explanation of what's happening in the word today ?

Baraka Allahou Fik,

MehdiS
