Islamic Duties / A visit to Prophet's tomb in Medina after hajj
« on: September 04, 2016, 11:20:20 PM »
Dear Learned Members,

I would like to have your valuable input regarding the subject matter. Can we pay visit to Prophet Muhammad's tomb in Medina after performing hajj just for the sake of historical learning of the place and as a learning tour, ofcourse not as religious duty! Since im fully aware of the quranic fact that all our ibadaat should be only for God.

Thanks in advance.

P.S: Some quranists say that it is totally forbidden even if it is casual one and even if it is purely for the sake of visiting and learning about the historical places.

Dear Hamzeh,

Thanks for your inputs, i have read all the links...so it means Prophet did receive clear and almost vivid inspirations outside quran in a personal capacity to help with some task at hand related to administration of state or for some other wisdom / purpose BUT the "scriptural revelation" which was inspired to him was only the verses which are protected in the Quran...right? Maybe when he was alive and if we were under his ministry, we would have been asked to also follow the other inspirations to him...am i understanding correctly?

Now that he is not amongst us, it appears that we are only obligated to follow Quran! Since, God never protected the "other inspirations" as He in His infinite wisdom did not deem them necessary for all times. Whereas, the people who were alive in his period, were also asked to follow the prophet (meaning quran + other inspirations) and if they had any doubt, since, the prophet was alive and amongst them, they could go and ask the prophet about the matter which originated from the "other inspirations" in which they got confused.

Am i getting this all correct? or do i sound more confused?  :-\

P.S: The claim that these "other inspirations" were later compiled in a reliable written form a century later, for which God did not take any responsibility, neither the prophet made any arrangements nor the immediate companions, is fake and bogus. It has no religious binding and nobody authorized hadith compilers to make their collections.

What i understand from Inputs by Hamzeh, that the chronological order of revelation of quran's verse was different than the compiled order as we see in today's quran, which has been the same back to the time of Prophet Muhammad pbuh and that to arrange the quran in a particular order such as putting Surah Fatiha at start and surah An-Naas at the end, was further inspired to the prophet?! Where is this inspiratoin? in ahadees?

It means Prophet did recieve other kinds of revelations and that the hadithers are right! Does it mean we have to follow ahadees as well now? as they are also revealed to the Prophet pbuh?

Please enlighten me! What does Bible have to say about this great and unusual incidence of teleportation of queen Sheba's throne?

Or if it is not in the bible, then can we say that the incident was missed or not captured by the writers of bible?

Someone please answer my question :(

Dear Learned Joseph A. Islam,

Please let me know whether future or forward business contracts a.ka. options are permissible in Islam or not? What guidance do we find about it in the Holy Quran?

What exactly is a Future or Forward Business contract? Following example might be helpful in explaining it:

You know that there is a real-estate somewhere of worth USD 1000, you pay USD 100 as down-payment and book the property for yourself and promise the Real-estate owner that you will pay the remainder in 3 months time. Now after a month of the initial payment, someone comes along and pays you USD 150 and takes the ownership of property's file and pays the remainder amount of USD 1400 to the real-estate owner and owns the plot for himself, as he is quite confident that the worth of this property will increase in near future!

The query: Is the Profit that you earned i.e. USD 150 - USD 100 = USD 50 permissible quranically or not?

Nabil Arshad Farooqi

Dear Student,

I have not deeply studied this website of Kaheel7, but i just skimmed over a few articles, this is a good site! but the author relies on some ahadees, like he says Yaseen is the heart of quran, this hadees is not even sahih, the fabricator was caught red-handed, and furthermore, he says Quran will intercede on the day of Judgement, as far as i know, this idea is taken from ahadees as well, he also says to understand quran we need quran first, then ahadees and then companions opinions and then scholars of the old, now this is a slippery slope!!

Rest, the site is very good regarding numerical and other scientific materials and discoveries, speaking of scientific discoveries, the author advocates how some scientific discoveries are proven in the ahadees, what about those sahih ahadees which are a mockey to modern science? lies attributed to the prophet and graded sahih, like no matter how polluted the water is, if someone takes two big jugs out of it, it becomes pure, and another hadees which says dipping fly in the drink etc.

10
Dear Hamzah,

Thanks for your inputs, however, im still unclear about this station of Praise and Glory, what is this station actually? Is it some station in the Judgement Day on which the prophet Muhammad will intercede for people as the traditionalists claim? or is it a worldy station in which the Prophet is praised for his feats and achievements?

If it is worldly station, then how do we know that he reached this station? what is our source of information and more importantly what is that information? ahadees? history? the same sources which also casts serious doubts on the prophet's character's integrity. Im quite confused!

Regarding Prophet Jospeh's incident i find Dr. Shabbir's translation far better than others, in his translations he states that it was one of the 12 brothers of benjamin who put the cup of king in benjamin's bag, and not Prophet Joseph as detailed in the Bible! and the same idea carried over by the traditionalists as well, for other purposes, like providing moral justification to their dubious ahadees and objectionable events portrayed in them regarding Prophet Muhammad pbuh.

Anyway, please let me know about this Maqaam-e-Mehmood! I thought Quran was against "personality worship" of all sorts, as it directed towards "God worship"

Dear Eliiah,

Thank you so much for your input. What does this verse mean then? To whom is it directed? What is its after-math? Are traditionalists correct then in glorifying Prophet Muhammad pbuh?

Please can you be so kind to provide me with inputs, and also can you please enlighten for me the right rendering of other two questions.

P.S: Other great learned people are also requested humbly to sort me out. Please!!

12
Dear Learned Brothers & Sisters,

Please can you help me understand the following areas of Quran, which are making me uneasy since i have now switched to QC Islam, and no longer call myself a sunni:

1) What is "Maqam-e-Mehmood" in 17:79?
2) To whom does God say in 94:4 "we have raised your Zikr" Is it the personal zikr of Prophet Muhammad pbuh? or is it the zikr (quran) given to him which is elevated? If it is the personal zikr of Prophet then the traditionalists give the excuse that since God has elevated the zikr of Prophet, who are you (QC people) to ask us not to glorify him all day long and not sing naats about him.
3) What is the correct understanding of 12:76?? Did God make a seemingly cunning plan for the Prophet Jospeh and then approve of it? because God is all Just as we know about Him? then why did God approve of this clever stratagem, which appears questionable to some people.

Please, i implore you all after Allah swt to help me answer these questions, may Allah swt reward you immensely for your time and efforts. JAK

Nabil Arshad Farooqi

Dear Joseph Abraham Islam,

Please help me im a bit confused! Traditionalists say that Quran gives hints of extra-scriptural revelations to previous nations (ahl-e-kitab) and how it was necessary for ahl-e-kitab to believe in them also, and hence, by analogical deductions they say that extra-scriptural revelations (ahadees) apart from Quran are to be believed in by Muslims as well. They give reference of the following two verses:

"If they had upheld the Torah, the Injeel, and what was sent down to them from their Lord, they would have been rewarded from above them and below their feet. From among them is a pious nation, but many of them commit evil." Quran 5:66

and

"Say, "O people of the book, you are not upon anything until you uphold the Torah and the Injeel and what was sent down to you from your Lord." For many of them, what was sent down to you from your Lord will only increase them in transgression and rejection. So do not feel sorry for the ingrates." Quran 5:68

They claim that apart from Injeel and Torah, other revelations (most probably wahi-e-khafi) were also to be believed in by the previous nations, therefore, Muslims also have to believe in wahi-e-khafi (ahadees) of their Prophet Muhammad pbuh.

What is your take on the matter? and what is the correct interpretation or translation of the verse keeping in mind the grammar and linguistics of arabic as well.

I am anxiously waiting for your reply, may Allah reward you immensly.

Thanks & Best of Regards,

Nabil Arshad Farooqi

Discussions / The use of 33:36 to authorize Hadees
« on: March 07, 2016, 01:59:49 AM »
Dear Joseph Islam,

Please let me know about the verse 33:36 "it is not for an acknowledging man or acknowledging woman, if God and His messenger issue any command, that they have any choice in their decision. Anyone who disobeys God and His messenger, he has gone far astray." What would be the correct understanding?
Hadith-centric use this verse to justify their claims for ahadees corpus.
