54:1

The hour drew nigh and the moon did rend asunder.
54:2

And if they see a miracle they turn aside and say: Transient magic.

Salam All I believe that there is no Azanal Qabar but how do reconcile with following Ayaat where Firaun was given Azab before resurrection.

40:45 And God protected him (the believer) from their evil scheming while suffering was to surround Pharaoh's people -

40:46 They were exposed to the relentless fire of agony day and night, and on the Day when the Hour dawns (it will be said), "Cast Pharaoh's people

What I understand is prophet Ibraheem's dream to sacrifice his son Ismaeel. Is it true that he tried but Allah saved him at the last moment. Can somebody help me to narrate the facts. Thanks

Islamic Duties / "Conductivity"Transfer of Energy
September 09, 2014, 10:45:07 AM
Q   Do we actually transfer energy to other people when we touch?
Answer 1 of 1

Debra Fulghum Bruce PhD
Healthcare
William Collinge, PhD, tells of some fascinating breakthroughs discovered at the Institute of HeartMath in understanding the energetics of touch in his book Subtle Energy: Awakening to the Unseen Forces in Our Lives. Since the heart creates the strongest electromagnetic field of the body (measurable from several feet away), Rollin McCraty and his colleagues wanted to find out whether our heart energy fields are really detectable at the surface of one another's bodies when we are in close proximity or actually touching.

One study involved wiring pairs of subjects up to electrodes and having them sit five feet apart. The researchers found that one person's heart energy waves (electrocardiogram output) were not detectable by the electrodes on the surface of the other person's body at that distance. However, when they were holding hands, each person's heart energy waves were detectable on the surface of the other's body, and even in the other's brain waves.

The researchers then wondered whether what was being picked up was being radiated through the air from the first person's heart, or was being conducted, like a wire conducts electricity, through skin contact. What they found was that when one person touched the other through a latex glove, the signal was still present, but was only one tenth as strong.

They then did another experiment to determine whether heart energy was transferred when the subjects were sitting closely together but not touching at all. Subjects were seated three feet apart and again wired with electrodes. Indeed, their electrocardiogram output was detectable across the space between them on the surface of each other's bodies. Thus, we now know that the heart energy field is both conducted by physical contact and radiated across space between people.

When we touch or are in close physical proximity with another, there is a real transfer of energy between us.

Salam All, I was wondering why Allah has prescribed Congregational Prayer when I read the above subject of conductivity of energy from one Human to the other. When Muslims stand closely standing
side by side in prayers the energy passes  through  each other. The Imam always tells to stand close to each other before Salath. The above mentioned article throws light on this subject.

Prophets and Messengers / Teaching the Wisdom
September 07, 2014, 01:50:05 AM
3:167
3:167
Certainly Allah conferred a benefit upon the believers when He raised among them an Apostle from among themselves, reciting to them His communications and purifying them, and teaching them the Book and the wisdom, although before that they were surely in manifest error.
------------------------------------
Allah raised Prophet to Recite His communications and Teaching them the Book and the Wisdom. This is the scenario of period of prophet's life time who taught Quran to  Sahaba. But how can we get the Teaching of Book & Wisdom of Prophet at this time? I can not understand this. Thanks for sharing.

Prophets and Messengers / Khatamunnabiyeen
July 26, 2014, 05:14:12 AM
Khatam means END while some Muslims particularly Ahmedis translate as Seal or Ring. Of course seal is used as finality. Khatema,  Ikhtetam, Khatam, is used for the END. Therefore the word Khatamannabiyeen
used for our Prophet is  appropriately used as Last Prophet.

CAIRO - Banned for decades from praying at the worship place, Muslims have finally performed prayers in an old mosque in Greece's second largest city of Thessaloniki.
"A positive step has been taken in the right direction," Kerim Uras, Turkey's ambassador to Greece, told Hurriyet Daily News.

"We're expecting the rest to come. I hope Athens will also be a place where Muslims can pray."

Greek Muslims Forced to Go Underground

Mosque Offer Relieves Athens Muslims
Muslims performed the noon prayers for the first time in 90 years at the historical New Mosque in Thessaloniki earlier this week

The prayers came during a visit by a group of Muslim students to the mosque upon an initiative from mayor Yiannis Boutaris.

"I am so happy about this historical development," said Turkish consul general Tugrul Biltekin.

"I hope mosques in Thessaloniki and other locations in the region will be open to Muslims during holy days."

The New Mosque was built in Thessaloniki in 1902.

But the Muslim worship place was closed to prayers in 1923 and was later turned into an exhibition hall.

Muslims account for nearly 1.3 percent of Greece's 10.7 million population.

Greek Muslims have long called for building a grand mosque in the capital Athens to accommodate the religious needs of the growing Muslim minority.

Despite objections from its powerful Orthodox Church, Greece had pledged to build a mosque in Athens to serve the city's growing Muslim minority.

But the crunching economic crisis, coupled with public enmity associating mosques with the Ottoman presence, has prevented the pledge from being translated into action.

Decked with minarets two centuries ago, Athens has not had a functioning mosque since the end of Ottoman rule in the early 1800s.

About 130 windowless, airless basements or warehouses in Athens currently serve as makeshift mosques for an estimated 200,000 Muslims in the Greek capital.

Tens of thousands of Muslim immigrants perform prayers in private homes and have had to travel hundreds of kilometers to northern Greece for weddings, burials and other ceremonies.

The Orthodox Church has for years insisted that Greeks were not ready to see a minaret in downtown Athens.

Anti-Muslim tide has been on the rise in debt-hit Greece, which is battling a growing recession that has brought thousands of job layoffs.

In 2011, Muslims holding an open-air prayer near the city centre in Athens to celebrate `Eid Al-Adha, were harassed by local residents who threw eggs at them and blared loud music from windows.

Discussions / Naming Children
May 13, 2014, 12:56:05 AM
Bro JAI has given in his reply to a question that the children are to be recognized by their fathers & should be named after them. But I see some strange kinds of names. When Allah's attributed names are given for instance "Rahman"it should be Abdur Rahman & not withou prefixing Abd. Like was female names should be prefixed with" Amat"One should not name as Abdul Hasan or Abdul Hussain. Not Rahman Khan or Baig. Some people use Abd wrongly such as Abdul Hussain,Abdur Rasool, Gulam Hasan. There used to be debate about famous Alims name "Abul Ala Maudoodi". How can a person be a father of God? He got criticizam all his life but never changed his name. Several people associated with him part ways. There is a proverb that " give a bad name to a dog & kill him"

Prophets and Messengers / Salwat on Mohammad SA

Salwat
33:56
33:56
Surely Allah and His angels bless the Prophet; O you who believe! call for (Divine) blessings on him and salute him with a (becoming) salutation.

Salam All, Bro JAI has discussed Darud Sharif in Q & As site about what one has to say in Salath. But I wanted to discuss from another angle here. What we are to say in Salawath is " Allahumma Salle Ala Mohammadin Wa Sallu Alaihi Salamu Tasleema "But some Muslims add " Wa Ahlehi , Wa Azwajhi,Wa Ashabehi "etc. I just wanted to know if one can add these persons? Is it not deviation from Allah's command? Thanks for sharing.

women and your women, and our people and your people to leave one another alone
knowing that God's condemnation is upon the liars."

He frowned and turned (his) back,

Because there came to him the blind man.

Or become reminded so that the reminder should profit him?

Were the Shia Imams infallible?
----------------------------------
While Sunnis don't declare their Imams as Infalliable the Shia assert that their Imams were. Actually no human is Infalliable except the Prophets.
While Hazrat Ali nominated his son as Imam Mauwiya nominated Yazid as his successor. What is the difference ?
(1) Hazrat Ali nominated his sons Hasan & Hussain as his successors. Husain withdrew in favor of his brother Hasan as such Hasan became Khalif after he got baiyat from Kufans. Therefore Hasan was made Khalifa without consulting Shura. Hazrat Ali did not follow the Islamic principle of
consulting Shura for selection
or election of a Khalifa as was
done before for all Khulfa.
As Hasan gave away his Imamat to Mauwiya therefore Ismailis & Agha Khanis don't recognize him as Imam.
Though Hasan handed over
the Khilafate to Mauwiya the
Imamat had gone to Hussain
while the sons of Hasan were
there to inherit.
(2)  As Zainulabedeen's first son Al Baqar's Imamat was challenged by his brother Zaid & declared himself as Imam. His progeny is called Sadaate
Zaidi.
(3) Imam Jafer Sadiq declared
  his second son Moosa Kazim
as his successor after death
of his eldest son Ismaeel even
though his son Mohammad bin
Ismaeel was alive. As a result of this Mohammad declared
Ismaeel as 7th Imam & he
being 8th Imam.
(4) Eleveth Imam Hasan Askary
nominated his minor son Mahdi instead of his brother Jafar Tawwab who was elder
and eligible. How can a minor
take the responsibility of Imam.
The progeny of Jafer Tawwab
is called Sadaate Naqvi.
Do these above narrated episodes tell us that the Imams
were Infalliable?
The sad part of Shia Imams is that all of the Imams were either assassinated or killed by
poisoning.

Salam All, I wanted to know if a Muslim believes in Quran in parts which I mean to say not in totality can be called Muslim? Allah's book is to be believed from A to Z ie, (114 Surahs )from Alf Lam Meem to Minal jinnati Wannas. In case someone dose not believe all can he be a Muslim ? Rashad Khlifa & his followers do not have the Two Ayaat 9:128 & 9:129 which were deleted from their Scripture. Can these people be called as Muslims ? I need clarification please. Thanks
