And say to the believing women that they cast down their looks and guard their private parts and do not display their ornaments except what appears thereof, and let them wear their head-coverings over their bosoms, and not display their ornaments except to their husbands or their fathers, or the fathers of their husbands, or their sons, or the sons of their husbands, or their brothers, or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or those whom their right hands possess, or the male servants not having need (of women), or the children who have not attained knowledge of what is hidden of women; and let them not strike their feet so that what they hide of their ornaments may be known; and turn to Allah all of you, O believers! so that you may be successful.
--------------------------------------
Salam All, As per this Ayah the Muslim women have to cover their Head with Khimar and cover their Bossom with a cloth. Bro Joseph Islam has also discussed in his article. But some Muslim Schlars like Allama Ghamidi don't agree. As per Quran covering Hair & bossom is necessary.

Islamic Duties / Iteqaf during Ramazan
July 11, 2015, 06:00:05 AM
There is widely practiced Iteqaf during Ramazan when Muslims live in Masajid during last ten days of Ramazan taking the following Ayah into account :---
2:125
2:125
And when We made the House a pilgrimage for men and a (place of) security, and: Appoint for yourselves a place of prayer on the standing-place of Ibrahim. And We enjoined Ibrahim and Ismail saying: Purify My House for those who visit (it) and those who abide (in it) for devotion and those who bow down (and) those who prostrate themselves.

Small Sins forgiven if great sins
are avoided
4:31
4:31
If you shun the great sins which you are forbidden, We will do away with your small sins and cause you to enter an honorable place of entering.
------------------------------------------------
We have to Praise & Thank Allah for His magninimity in forgiving our small sins if we don't commit
great sins. Subhanallah O Shurallhamdullillah

General Discussions / Killing a Boy
May 08, 2015, 02:44:20 AM
There is a narration in Surah Kahaf that a person accompanying Prophet Musa killed a boy as per the
following Ayaat :--
Kahaf
18:74
So they went on until, when they met a boy, he slew him. (Musa) said: Have you slain an innocent person otherwise than for manslaughter? Certainly you have done an evil thing.
18-80
And as for the boy, his parents were believers and we feared lest he should make disobedience and ingratitude to come upon them:
What kind of lesson we get from this incident?

Islamic Duties / What to expend means?
April 28, 2015, 11:54:32 PM
Chapter (2) sūrat l-baqarah (The Cow)

Sahih International: They ask you about wine and gambling. Say, "In them is great sin and [yet, some] benefit for people. But their sin is greater than their benefit." And they ask you what they should spend. Say, "The excess [beyond needs]." Thus Allah makes clear to you the verses [of revelation] that you might give thought.

Pickthall: They question thee about strong drink and games of chance. Say: In both is great sin, and (some) utility for men; but the sin of them is greater than their usefulness. And they ask thee what they ought to spend. Say: that which is superfluous. Thus Allah maketh plain to you (His) revelations, that haply ye may reflect.

Yusuf Ali: They ask thee concerning wine and gambling. Say: "In them is great sin, and some profit, for men; but the sin is greater than the profit." They ask thee how much they are to spend; Say: "What is beyond your needs." Thus doth Allah Make clear to you His Signs: In order that ye may consider-

Shakir: They ask you about intoxicants and games of chance. Say: In both of them there is a great sin and means of profit for men, and their sin is greater than their profit. And they ask you as to what they should spend. Say: What you can spare. Thus does Allah make clear to you the communications, that you may ponder

Muhammad Sarwar: (Muhammad), they ask you about wine and gambling. Tell them that there is great sin in them. Although they have benefits for men, the sin therein is far greater than the benefit. They ask you about what they should give for the cause of God. Tell them, "Let it be what you can spare." This is how God explains for you His guidance so that perhaps you will think

Mohsin Khan: They ask you (O Muhammad SAW) concerning alcoholic drink and gambling. Say: "In them is a great sin, and (some) benefit for men, but the sin of them is greater than their benefit." And they ask you what they ought to spend. Say: "That which is beyond your needs." Thus Allah makes clear to you His Laws in order that you may give thought."

Arberry: They will question thee concerning wine, and arrow-shuffling. Say: 'In both is heinous sin; and uses for men, but the sin in them is more heinous than the usefulness.' They will question thee concerning what they should expend. Say: 'The abundance.' So God makes clear His signs to you; haply you will reflect;

Following are the punishments as per Bible and as per Quran:--
Crime and Punishment

Adultery
24:2 "The adulterer and the adulteress, scourge ye each one of them (with) a hundred stripes. And let not pity for the twain withhold you from obedience to Allah, if ye believe in Allah and the Last Day. And let a party of believers witness their punishment."
For making war against Allah and his Messenger
5:33 "The only reward of those who make war upon Allah and His messenger ... will be that they will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. Such will be their degradation in the world, and in the Hereafter theirs will be an awful doom."
Lewdness
4:15 "As for those of your women who are guilty of lewdness, call to witness four of you against them. And if they testify (to the truth of the allegation) then confine them to the houses until death take them."
Stealing
5:38 "As for the thief, both male and female, cut off their hands. It is the reward of their own deeds, an exemplary punishment from Allah."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------__
I just wanted to know as to why the punishments as per Bible more harsh than Quran while Allah is
same for two nations ie, Christians and Muslims. Secondly why the Islamic Govt. does not take cutting
hands literal instead of cutting the ability to steal? Thanks for sharing.

61:5
And when Musa said to his people: O my people! why do you give me trouble? And you know indeed that I am Allah's apostle to you; but when they turned aside, Allah made their hearts turn aside, and Allah does not guide the transgressing people.
61:6
And when Isa son of Marium said: O children of Israel! surely I am the apostle of Allah to you, verifying that which is before me of the Taurat and giving the good news of an Apostle who will come after me, his name being Ahmad, but when he came to them with clear arguments they said: This is clear magic.
--------------------------------------------------
One Bro Nouman Ali Khan who is famous Quran teacher in USA told the difference in above two Ayaat
While Prophet Musa addressed his Ummah as " Ya Qaumi" O my people but in the next Ayah the prophet Jesus it addressing " Ya Bani Israeel" which means he was not from them since he had no
father. One therefore think about difference in addressing the Ummah. Please help me to understand  Thanks

Quoting Hadith instead of Quran
-------------------------------------
I wonder how the young and old
Imams quote Ahadith instead of
Quran in their Khutaat. I heard there are Shaikh
Ul Hadith who have memorised
all Ahadith like Quran. The prophet taught
Sahaba the Quran but Ahadith
convey the other narrations attributing to the Prophet. And present Quranic Ayaat in their own way
thus making the Ahadith a
parallel to Quran which should not
be acceptable.

Salam All, In Surah Rahman whom Allah is addressing Jinn & Ins? Or Men and Women? As I read some translation as being addressed Men & Women. What is meant as per this Ayah below ?

So on that day neither man nor jinni shall be asked about his sin.

Allah in His infinite mercy may
grant Jannah whomsoever He
likes but the question is that He
may not see the mark sheet given in our right hand and will
allow us to enter Jannah which
is what our Imam told in today's

General Discussions / Belief in entire Quran
March 20, 2015, 09:49:19 AM
:Bro JAI, I happen to go through
Your article on Edip Yuksil on
Face Book where you have taken
the difference of opinion lightly.
It is not a simple matter like
"agree to disagree" but serious
in the matter of Quran. First of all
there are two important points
1-First Rashad Khalifa does not
believe in Ahdith but at the same
time to fit in Code 19 he relied in
Hadith that made him remove the two Ayaat from his copy of Quran. 2-Secondly it is a basic
concept that a muslim has to believe in entire Quran and in
believing a part of Quran makes
him "Unbeliever". Edip is having
same belief as RK. but tells that
RK he had some differences.
Edip does not believe in Five
prayers but in three. Edip does
not believe Shabbir Ahmed's
ascertion that the Salath was
invented by Haroon Rashid's
mother Kaizaran. Rashad Khalifa
died but Edip has taken up cue
and trying hard to publicize RK.s
Code 19 in USA.

General Discussions / Relation of the Two Ayaath
March 19, 2015, 12:41:31 AM
33:40
Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Apostle of Allah and the Last of the prophets; and Allah is cognizant of all things.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Salam all, How do these two Ayaath related to each other can some forum members elucidate ?
