Women / REPLACING ONE WIFE FOR THE OTHER
June 07, 2015, 09:29:35 PM
4:20

Salam brother joseph

What is your view with respect to the above verse?
On what ground can it be invoked. As no reason is adduced in the verse.
If u have the chance to marry as much u are capable of what is the need of replacing one with the other. Does this not indicate that the numbers of wives u can marry is limited(like four proponents) .

Masalam.

Salam,

Please brother Joseph kindly clarify using relevant Quranic verses to prove the Prophethood or messengership of the first man on earth(our father Adam).
I have come across arguments indicating he wasn't a prophet nor a messenger because the Quran did not mention such.
Masalam.

Salam. I just decide to open a new topic to clarify further on the use of the twos, threes and four to mean multiplicity or not.

A particular verse was not mentioned all through the discussion with khalid. So I decided to bring it to the fore to know if it supports multiplicity or not. Please I will like brother Joseph to throw some light on it in relation to the Verses under discussion. The verse in question is 34:46 in relation to 4:3 and 35:1.

Salam, Brothers Joseph.

Please i would like u to throw more light on the issue of marriage with respect to what constitute it and when does it begin to be legally recognized as marriage. This, i will like you to analyze keeping in view the following Quranic verses with respect to divorce of a marriage that is already existing without sexual intercourse and dowry(specified and unspecified):

2:236 There is no sin upon you if you divorce the women before having sexual intercourse with them, or before setting the dowry for them. Let them have recompense, the rich according to his means, and the poor according to his means. A recompense in kindness, a responsibility for the good doers.

2:237 And if you divorce them before having sexual intercourse with them, but you have already set the dowry for them; then you must give half of what you have agreed, unless they forgive or the guardian over the marriage contract forgives. And if you forgive, it is closer to righteousness. And do not forget the favor between you; God is Seer of what you do.

And also correlating it with other Quranic verses where we are expected to seek them in marriage with dowry and the following verse 4:24 ....As for those whom you have already had joy with, then you shall give them their dowries as an obligation. There is no sin upon you for what you agree on after the obligation. God is Knowledgeable, Wise.

I hope to hear from you soon.
May Allah reward you abundantly for your great effort and forgive you your shortcomings.
Masalam.

Salam brother Joseph and all other brothers and sisters in the forum.

Pls kindly treat these verses of the Quran( 2:129,151; 3:163 and 62:2). Especially looking at teaching the book by the prophet.  How does the prophet teaches Quran?

Salam brodas, pls kindly comment on these two arabic words(salat and tasbih) often misunderstood by so many viewing its usage in the Quran. Are they the same or two different things?
