Salamun alaikum ,


Today i was discussing with my Hindu friend about Islam/God/hinduism/commercialisation of Religion ,etc.


From his own reasoning capacity , he do not believe in statue worship or that statues are Gods (as most of the hindus believe) and believes in 'Creator of universe' i.e God.

While the conversation was going on , he asked me who wrote the Quran ? I replied 'From God it came to prophet Muhammad via an Angel'

He said it is hard for him to accept the 'Angel story' , however , he believe in Creation and the Creator of  universe (God).

What does Quran says about such people ?

And if you can suggest me what should i reply him , it will be favour on me.

I know there is no concept of Eid-ul-fitr or Eid-ul-zuha in the Quran but just want to know that is there any verse which hints this practice for someone not performing Hajj ?

Is it preserved in any Museum till now ?
If not , which is the oldest copy of Quran which exist till now ?

4:119
"I will mislead them, and I will create in them false desires; I will order them to slit the ears of cattle, and to deface the (fair) nature created by God." Whoever, forsaking God, takes Satan for a friend, has of a surety suffered a loss that is
manifest.


25:44
 "Or do you think that most of them listen or use their intellect . They are only like cattle, nay, they are more astray from the way.


Can it be interpreted that word cattle  used in 4:119 is actually referring to people who follow their traditions blindly and give those traditions extra importance in their life without using  their reason ?

I have seen some male muslims who believe that some scholar will protect them on the day of judgement and then they become their 'Mureed' , after that they get their ear pierced and start wearing a ring in one ear.

And there are other example too from among muslims and non muslims here where piercing ears is given too much importance , not piercing of ear becomes a Taboo.

Sometimes i feel uncomfortable before starting the prayer because of this doubt in my mind.

Why should we bow and prostrate in a specific direction which directs towards a house built up of stones/bricks?

Pickthall's translation 2:282 (part) -
.....And call to witness, from among your men,
two witnesses. And if two men be not (at hand) then a man and two women, of
such as ye approve as witnesses, so that if the one erreth (through

Salamun alaikum  ,
During 4th week heart starts beating for the first time ,Tongue starts forming and dilatations for stomach is formed ,
During 5th week , brain starts to develop ,
During 6th week , intestinal loops are well formed,
During 7th week , eye lens and eye kids are formed , salivary glands(which produce saliva) starts developing, 
During 8th week , elbow , knee , fingers and toes are formed .

I have seen your references and it appears to be  3rd month(approximately 12th week) when new Nafs is formed [30-24=6] , [9-6=3]

Before 12th week of gestation ,some organs are developed and some have atleast started their development.

Since Quran is words of God , i think there is something wrong with 'our' understanding and analysis of the Quranic verses.
It becomes difficult to accept that heart starts beating during 4th week and new Nafs is formed at 12th week.

Dear Joseph sir , Please clear this issue because On the basis of this , some people can also interpret  that abortion is allowed before 3rd month.

If only they had been content with what Allah and His Messenger gave them, and had said, "Sufficient unto us is Allah! Allah and His Messenger will soon give us of His bounty: to Allah do we turn our hopes!" (that would have been the right course).

Pickthall-
(How much more seemly) had they been content with that which Allah and His messenger had given them and had said: Allah sufficeth us. Allah will give us of His bounty, and (also) His messenger. Unto Allah we are suppliants.

Abdel Haleem-
If only they would be content with what God and His Messenger have given them, and say, ‘God is enough for us- He will give us some of His bounty and so will His Messenger- to God alone we turn in hope.’

Please Explain me Does it means  '' Allah and his messenger will give us bounty'' or ''Allah will give us bounty , and his messenger'' ?

If it means Allah and his messenger will give us bounty , Can it be used to explain that ''Obey Allah and Abey messenger'' does not mean 2 different Sources ?

Dear Orange ,

"we will show them our signs in the universe and within themselves untill it become clear to them that this is the truth" (somewhere in the Quran)

I am convinced that Allah has given us limited capacity to think and imagine , we cannot imagine many things . For example : try to imagine a new colour never seen before , result of 0 divided by 0 , some parts of theory of relativity, etc

Who created everything from an atom to galaxies ?
Science will give an answer - Big bang ,
Now which event triggered the explosion named big band , who created mass and the massive amount of energy for big bang to occur ?

These question are enough to convince oneself that there is a creator. Whose imagination is beyond our thinking.

You cannot measure temperature beyond 100 degrees with a thermometer ranging from 0 to100 degrees but a glass thermometer is a proof that glass was melted and moulded.

If there is no God , we are just a complicated chemical system.

Thanks for replying and helping me.

@Mubashir , yes it makes a sense , reading and memorizing  the Quran  was important in those days. Possibly there were not many copies of the Quran in those days , so memorized Quran would have played important role in transmission of its message to others , which was witnessed by them.
Considering that perceptive capacity is more during morning , Quranic principles are better remembered when recited at dawn , Which will help in its implementation which will be witnessed by all.


@Joseph Islam , I agree with you. Thanks for linking this verse with other verses , thereby making this topic much more clear to me.

Only Allah knows what the true meaning is.

Salamun alaikum ,

I also feel distressed and little bit tensed while listening such stories in the mosques , they ever exaggerate and tells about the miracles of prophet Muhammad, greatness of Sahaba , abnormally high reward of offering salah or reading something 100 times , faults in other sects , etc.

One of the sect here considers that prophet Muhammad is still alive, Allah has made him from his 'Noor'.

Even the stories which are non existant in Hadith are famous over here.(I dont know where they came from)

 Some times i even feel is it necessary to pray with them ? ,  Is it that kind of mosque for which Quran tells to leave your work and go and attend the salah on Friday?

 Establish worship at the going down of the sun until the dark of night, and (the recital of) the Qur'an at dawn. Lo! (the recital of) the Qur'an at dawn is ever witnessed. (Pickthall's translation)

From Quranic teaching it is clear that Allah knows and witness everything , everywhere and at every time from sub-atomic level to Heavenly bodies and beyond that.
what Could me meaning of Recital in Dawn is ever witnessed ?
If it refers to the Angels , what  extra importance it carries because Allah knows everything whether it be witnessed by Angels or not ?

Quran 17:3
Sahih International translation -
"O descendants of those We carried [in the ship]
with Noah. Indeed, he was a grateful servant.

 Pickthall's translation- (They were) the seed of those whom We carried
(in the ship) along with Noah. Lo! he was a
grateful slave.

The flood cant be global because Allah will not destroy any community in another part of the world before sending messengers to them , and it seems unreal while imagining that Noah would have carried all species (Elephants , tall trees , micro organisms  etc) on his Ark .

In 17:3 , I think Pickthall's Interpretation is more correct.
