Salaam,

It must be very difficult for you as I can sense that you strongly
want to believe and put negative thoughts aside.

Again, I do advise that you read the Quran fully, try to feel a connection.

You have already made a huge leap if you consider that you believe in
God. You can't see Him yet you know He is present. Just extending that thought to the fact that in turn He can surely create other beings apart from us?

Salaam,

Quran centric beliefs are not a manhaj. It is simply an approach to understanding the faith. In fact we don't believe in dividing into
sects as it goes against the Quranic instuctions.

Being Quran centric means believing in the clear unequivocal verses
that talk about angels jinn and other realms outside our scope of vision.

So when you talk to traditionalists, you only have to mention if you wish, that you take a Quran centric/focussed approach to matters.

Salaam Anjum,

I don't think that you read my last post on the topic of having wudu when touching the Quran. I will also post it here:

I hope you are well.
Many of the questions you post have already been addressed in articles by Joseph and also on the forum in the past.

I just wanted to suggest that it may be an idea if before posting a question, you try to look up the answer and this way it would avoid duplicated effort by others.

Thanks

Salaam ZKAB90,

If you believe that the Quran is fully the word of God after reading and pondering it, then you will believe in the existence of angels, jinns, heaven and hell. These are fundamentals of faith.

An entirely different matter is that even committed Muslims err in their actions or failure to follow God's commands, which means that they have wronged themselves. But the most important aspect is that they acknowledge it, and attempt to rectify the matter going forward.

Salaam ZKAB90

I think that you have to undo all that you have learnt in the past.
You said:
I don't believe in Angels, Jinns and I can't realize the existence of Hell and Heaven even I suspect that all are true. Allah sealed my heart due to my ex-islamophobic behavior and arrogance.

So look at everything fresh in order to relearn and read the Quran cover to cover.
Then and only then should you think about why you don't believe in angels etc

Salaam Mia666,

Thank you for your input and trying to assist Anjum. :)
I will say to Anjum though that it is the person saying the Quran is corrupt that should be explaining their position not vice versa.

Salaam,

The Jews were not disbelievers in God though so they would not come under that banner.
They were however punished for their inequities and the Quran mentions that they were condemned twice. God says 'you repeat the crime and We will repeat the punishment'.

Salaam Anjum,

The Quran is not corrupted because it was also committed to memories of so many thus guaranteeing that preservation was maintained.

So in that respect the verses as they are now are in tact and unadultered.

You say:
QuoteQuran states...that wives of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)...should not marry again after his death...and they are asked to stay at home...and any men should talk behind curtains with them...why was all this mentioned to especially to the wife of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)...but not to the wives of other prophets..?...and it also states that...do not wander in the house of Prophet...and leave quickly...after eating etc etc...and...Prophet was allowed to marry...his adopted son's wife...after her divorce with his adopted son...i m just confused with these things...was it really commanded by Allah?...or people...altered it?..

If a command was given to the prophet's wives and not others before, it does not mean that it is unfair. God in His ultimate wisdom decided that the wives of the prophet were the 'mothers of the believers' and had a high status that demanded respect.

In regards to leaving their houses, I do not think that is a literal instruction but more of an indication that their duty was to their household and they should focus on that.

Salaam,

I understand the point about Pharoah's wife becoming a believer but regarding Prophet Lot, as far as my understanding, he was unaware that his wife was a non believer.

Anjum if your father is thinking that the Quran has become corrupted that may just be a doubt and he may need to search deelpy into these feelings and seek answers.

If however, he has left the religion in his heart and mind I think that it may be a different matter but again I would urge some sort of intervention for him not just a blanket divorce.

I agree that we are to live in society and different societies have different norms. If though a particular society has norms of showing a lot of flesh for example it doesn't mean that we aquiesece to it.

Salaam all,

I am sure that you have all read Joseph's article regarding covering.

Taking all the verses into consideration, I hold the view that the hair is part of a woman's zeenat and should be covered..not strictly every strand though and not only with a headscarf as hats would suffice too.

In order to take into consideration the many different cultural dresses, the Quran doesn't stipulate a particular style of clothing.

So what I understand is that the clothing should not be tight, arms and legs should be covered but 3/4 sleeves would be acceptable too. A must would be some sort of additional covering for the bosom. Also if you were to wear western dress then long tops that cover the bottom would be required in order to fulfill the instruction and jeans etc should not be tight fitting.

Salaam Samson,

By saying Bani Adam and their descendants, the Quran in my view, is emphasising that it is all of mankind from time immemorial.

Secondly by forgetting a covenant is not equal to breaking a covenant. If we never forgot then we would never sin and there would not be a test or struggle in life so the purpose of it would be somewhat defeated.

Mia666
yes I understand what you are saying and agree with it
