I would like to add my view.
I would seek refuge and protection in Allah the Almighty from the expelled Satan. A thief will go where the loot is. Satan will go where the believers are to disrupt and confuse them and sow doubt. You are a believer and if you are righteous then Allah Taala will take care of the rest.

Peace and blessings of Allah the source of peace on all

Salaam all,

As per this verse
(Sahih International)
Indeed I want you to obtain [thereby] my sin and your sin so you will be among the companions of the Fire. And that is the recompense of wrongdoers."

-Surah Al-Ma'idah, Ayah 29

Salaam all,
I found this Ayat

(Sahih International)
What would Allah do with your punishment if you are grateful and believe? And ever is Allah Appreciative and Knowing.

-Surah An-Nisa', Ayah 147

How can one differentiate between a recompense and a punishment and hence a test.
For someone who committed major sins before a becoming a believer, how does Allah deal with them?

Kind regards
God Bless all

I recall a Qur'an Ayat or two where Allah tells prophet Muhammad about certain events, other prophet experiences
And then informs prophet Muhammad that he couldn't have known these things. I think history is good but not critical as it can be distorted and we know this because historically Allah's scriptures previous to the Qur'an have been distorted or key information withheld.
The wisdom I glean from those Ayat (sorry i cannot remember them) is that it's best to rely on Allah's haqq and words.

On reading the highlighted verses by Brother Nouman i can only see 2 areas of contention.
the people spoken about in these ayat are those claiming to be believers but Allah knows what is in their hearts.

1) 4:61 when it is said to them, come to what Allah has revealed, and to the messenger", thou seest the hypocrites avert their faces from thee in disgust.

Who are the hypocrites? those who turn away from The Quran or those who turn away from the messenger (assumed by many to be the sunnah). followers of the quran assume this to be the quran because of the usage of "messenger" and not "prophet".

2)4:64

" We sent not the messenger to be obeyed in accordance with the will of Allah"
Does this imply a sunnah and Quran together?

3) 4:65
"But no, by the Lord, They have no faith, until they make thee judge in all disputes between them.
Finding no résistance in their souls against thy decisions, but accept with fullest conviction"
Again, could be argued by Quran followers that this applies to Prophet's contemporaries and by traditionalists  that the sunnah must be followed.

any light shed will be much appreciated.
Sorry to be flogging a dead horse here but i would rather leave no stone left unturned.

General Discussions / Ishmael prophet and messenger

Salaam all

Does the Quran mention what scripture ishmael was given?
(Sahih International)
And mention in the Book, Ishmael. Indeed, he was true to his promise, and he was a messenger and a prophet.

-Surah Maryam, Ayah 54

Submit to God by following his commands, thus maybe gaining true belief, guidance, closeness, love, etc and move up higher and higher in spirituality, purity, peace the ultimate relationship with God. This can only be achieved by keeping no other desires than the desire to be with God. Desires have no place in a balanced life and most often leads to excess which Allah prohibits.

Kind regards and peace

I do apologise for my assumption.

Salaam all,
32:39 mentions a "day of decision" which if Allah is referring to judgement day, would suggest everyone that is dying is being raised up for their own judgement day within a period of many years of judgement. I can't seem to find anywhere a judgement day for all souls within one earthly day. Does the quran have such a concept of potentially having trillions of raised up souls being judged in one earthly day?
Also 32:14 talks about a meeting with Allah on "this day of yours". Is it fair to say we are being raised up after we die, for judgement, throught a period of many years with each soul having its own appointment with Allah the Almighty.

Kind regards and peace to all.

Another verse I found that talks a bit about a book being sent to the messenger. Not too sure if it's simply referring to muhammad alone in this context who was also a prophet.

O you who have believed, believe in Allah and His Messenger and the Book that He sent down upon His Messenger and the Scripture which He sent down before. And whoever disbelieves in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, and the Last Day has certainly gone far astray.

-Surah An-Nisa', Ayah 136

The traditional idea is that all messengers are prophets and that new revelation is only given to messengers.
Brother Joseph highlighted a few verses that confirm the opposite, that prophets are given new revelation and that all prophets are messengers. There are a few verses to back brother Joseph's Idea.
However in 2:285 we are told that "the messenger believed in what was revealed to him". We know Allah only reveals a book of guidance that he himself is witness to.
Also in 5:83, "and when they hear what has been revealed to the messenger".
I am a bit confused now regarding both ideas, of what is revealed and to whom.

Kind regards and thank you.
