Can a Government purely on Islamic principals be formed?
« on: February 17, 2015, 10:52:02 AM »
Salam All, In one of the interviews one Pakistani scholar was expressing that running an Islamic state
in present times is not possible. I don't understand how can he tell this since the Prophet had established the Govt.in Madina after capturing Mecca followed by the Khulfai Rashadeen. Therefore in
my humble opinion an Islamic Govt. can successfully run during present times. Forum members are
requested to give their valued opinion. Thanks

With brother Joseph as khalifa and with Quran as constitution, yes, it would be possible :D
Excuse me for my sense of humour, now becoming serious - there is quite a bit of possibility if we'd have rulers who have studied the Quran and captured the correct way of applicating some laws which, to be honest, have been missinterpreted to suit the convenience of the rulers throughout the history. Take for example the concubinage, which was based on some quranic verses taken out of context, which allowed those rulers to have harems with hundreds of concubines.
But a ruler with Quran-centric approach and with Quran as constitution would be sucessful just like the state during our prophet Muhammad pbuh.
May God bless us all,
Your sister Seraphina :)

Please forget about Emperor & kings & their lavish way of living. We have to run the Govt. As was done by our Prophet & rightly guided Khulfai Rashadin. Islam has got all kinds of rules to administer
the Govt

Just see what Allah says about giving power
lim state must be based on Islam - The Two Nation Theory.

22:41 They are the ones who, if We grant them rule in the land, establish Salaat and give Zakat. They enjoin virtue and forbid vice. And in their governance all affairs are decided according to God's decrees. [Establishing Salaat = Establishing the Divine System where God’s Commands are closely followed. Giving Zakat = Setting up the Just Economic Order in which wealth circulates freely to nourish every member of the society, and the basic needs of all individuals are taken care of]

Following is the Noblest mission after forming a Govt by our prophet where there was peace & safety
for all people. Therefore establishment of a Muslim State is essential to be formed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE NOBLEST MISSION STATEMENT EVER: At the outset of the call to the prophetic office, the exalted Muhammad announced the highest and the noblest possible Mission Statement ever, "We will establish a State wherein a beautiful young woman laden with jewelry will be able to travel alone from Yemen to Busra in Syria, about 1,500 miles. Yet, she will have no fear but the fear of Allah."

This meant that in the Muslim Empire, the life, honor and property of all citizens would be safe. It promised peace and rule of law in the society beginning with discipline in the hearts. The exalted Prophet achieved this lofty mission in his lifetime! Sall-Allahu-'Alaiyhe-Wasallam
