    Salaam all,

I kindly request that we stick to one topic here. If you wish to discuss who built the Kabbah
please can you open a new post.

hicham9:
  • Can you stop making sweeping statements then disappear from the thread. You state that
'The Qurān is a book of facts, not fiction.' yet have not provided any proof from the Quran as to what jinn are.
  • Joseph however has and you seemed irked when another forum member requested you read his article on the matter!
  • One liners are not appreciated here so as a moderator, I will be monitoring your posts and if I deem them to be time wasting I will remove you from this forum.
  • You state:"Thanks but, I'd rather learn directly from the clear, Arabian Qurān."
Then what are you doing here airing your views? Why should we listen to you when you don't want anyone else to listen to Joseph or others?

Salaam all,

I agree with Hassan A and his comments. We cannot find every answer to science in the Quran but it has alluded to several scientific processes.

Hassan has mentioned about time being relative and provided verses to confirm this.
Evolution is not far fetched either and I do request that you read the articles by Joseph to get a better understanding of the nuances in the words.

Thanks

Salaam,

Because the scared months prohibit fighting for the Muslims, they are instructed to fight after the months are over and of course it would be with hose pagans who broke their treaties.

If you read 5:28 it is regarding the son's of Adam and the decision of one not to fight against the other. Muslims are instructed to incline towards peace and that is the overall goal but also they are also told that if they are oppressed then they can fight.

Verse 2:191 even states that oppression is worse than death.

Salaam,

Did the article link that you have on your footnotes([2]  Understanding Surah Tauba (Chapter 9) and the Infamous 'Killing': http://quransmessage.com/articles/surah%20tauba%20FM3.htm)  not help?

Salaam,

I think that it refers to the bonds of kinship that HGod has asked us to enjoin and also to the 'oneness' of the islamic community.

Breaking the above bonds would lead to discord and the fragmentation of the community.

Islamic Duties / Re: Is Sectarian is Shirk

Well if some people are making these divisions a part of their desire, superseding God's instructions then I suppose you could argue that it is shirk.

There is a verse in the Quran that talks of those people who make their desire their God so I can understand why some people say that sectarianism is akin to shirk.

Islamic Duties / Re: Libas for Muslims

Salaam,

I think that everyone here has ascertained that 'satar' is derived from the ahadith.

Regarding men's requirements, I strongly feel that covering from the navel to the knee as a minimum and permitting a man to be essentially half naked is against  the Quran's guidance.

With women's covering, there is a strong direction to cover the hair, contrary to what others are saying here. There is reference to the khimar which was worn as a head covering.

Also there are clear instructions on how women appear in front of those who are not their 'mahram'. They are asked only to reveal their beauty to a certain group of men. If they don't  cover their hair in front of those men not in that group, then how can they fulfill those verses?
