If not possible to manage time to read all the Articles or Q/A, then go to google search and just put your question or kew words plus quransmessage.com. Hope you will get the answers if there is any. I got and still getting befitted using this method. If I don’t get it there or if I am not satisfied with the article or answers then I go to forum to discuss it.

They ignorantly claim that it (slamalaikum) means 'death be upon you' which is not correct. Actually this idea originates from hadith where the word was used as 'as-samu', not 'slamu'. Brother Joseph already dicussed it.

I want to know if  the word 'slamalekum/slamalaikum' means anything negative. I don’t know arabic. That’s why want to be clear if the word changes its meaning in any way.

Dear Brothers and Sisters
Salam.

In my country some muslims greet others saying slamalaikum or slamalekum. I generally say only salam (sometimes in my mother tongue also which is 'shanti') or assalamu alaikum or salamun alaikum. But I also think saying slamalaikum or slamalekum is not wrong, because the meaning which one wants to convey actually matters. But recently some are saying that this is not correct. It (slamalaikum) changes the meaning of greeting. (Hence should be avoided.) Does it? Whats your opinion?

 Would you please elaborate about what "He has overlooked and brushed over". Some example.

One more thing. There are many instances that sometimes people change their religion. They convert. According the discussions going on it is understandable that this conversion is needles. But is there any problem if anyone wants to convert from one religion to another? Is it permissible? If a christian or jew converts to Islam, then can a muslim convert to those religion. Are we free to choose within these monotheist religions?

Brother Sardar is not only a long-standing member, but one of the most senior members of this forum. Probably he is over 80 and sometimes can not recall something about previous posts. Once he asked forgiveness for this limitation. I think we must appreciate his endeavour at this age with patience. If you can please try to help him. If you can't let Brother Joseph to respond, as the query is directed to him. And don't be surprised. One day we shall reach this age, if Allah wills. My father is 83 years old. I know a little the burden of old age.

Please don't be hurt with my words.

You are right. 22:27 is related to Abraham (pbuh). It was a quick remark which i should not do. I must take a look over the hajj related verses.

May be it is a good logic that there is no point of opening hajj to disbelievers that don't even believe in Allah. ( But there are believers among other relegions also. They are also not expected there.) And I see in 22:25 Allah says that Al Masjid Al-haram is open to all mankind. If any do wrong then Allah will punish them. If it is only for believers, then why Allah put the word  mankind (`naas') instead of `believers'. In some other verses related to hajj the term `naas' is also used.(2:189, 9:3) Why? I believe the words of Quran were coined wisely, not haphazardly. May be I have failed to understand something here.

There is also allegations for many years causing mischief by some people of different countries during hajj and they are believers. Some accuse people of Iran, some accuse the Saudi Govt for their poor management etc. Fixation of the four months time span within a few days cause mischief also. (2:197).

As to those who have rejected (Allah), and would keep back (men) from the Way of Allah, and from the Sacred Mosque, which We have made (open) to (all) men - equal is the dweller there and the visitor from the country - and any whose purpose therein is profanity or wrong-doing - them will We cause to taste of a most Grievous Penalty.

As the hajj is open to all mankind then how can it be prohibited for non-muslims?

Its nice to hear you in this forum. At this age you are still actively in search of truth, thats quite encouraging.
In fact we do lot of things which are not mentioned in the Quran. Lots of practises have been incorporated in our religious practises over the centuries. The prctices which does not conflict with the core teachings of the Quran then there should not be any problem, I think. The salat of two Eid are such practises. Those are not compulsory. I hope, we would not be questioned if we abandon it due to our difficulties. But those are good practises to follow.

I thought it was arrogance/proud which blinded/clouded his mind, so that satan failed to obey the instruction. (7:12, 2:34). Sometimes knowing the result of crime and 99 percent possibilty of being caught red handed we do wrong. Our anger/greed/lust etc overpower our mind.

But I think you want to know something else/more.

Waiting for response from Brother Joseph's reply also.

7:12 He said: "I am better than he: You did create me from fire, and him from clay. (God) said: "Get thee down from this: it is not for thee to be arrogant here: get out, for you are of the meanest (of creatures). (part)
2:34  Not so Iblis: he refused and was haughty: He was of those who reject faith
