Women / Man with 97 wives
« on: January 31, 2017, 02:15:30 PM »
Hello Joseph, What is your view on Mohammad Bello Abubakar, who married around 100 wives, at a time near 80 wives. He died yesterday.

According to Wikipedia, "Although the Quran states that a man may marry four wives, Bello claimed that when the Quran set a law, it must also set a punishment for offenders, and no punishment was given for this particular offense."

Have you read the tafseer of Quran named "Al-Mizan fi tafsiri'l-Qur'an, popularly known as Tafsir al-Mizan (Arabic: تفسير الميزان‎) (or exegesis of the Quran) written by Allamah Sayyid Muhammad Husayn Tabataba'i.

What makes this tafseer (i.e. exegesis) interesting and different is that the author explains Quranic verses in the light of other Quranic verses (as contrast to traditions and narrations). It is a huge collection as the tafseer book consists of 20 volumes originally written in Arabic.

A very little part of it may be found in English on the below URL.

I hope the readers will like it, specially students of Quran like brother Joseph Islam.

Discussions / matwatir ahadees

there are many ahadees which are matwatir (came through tawatir/continuity ). These are those ahadees which were being heard from more than one or two sources (through multiple chains). What are your opinion about such ahadees which have numerous chains of narrations, all ending with the same content. Is not it definitely remove the element of doubt from them?

General Discussions / who are al-araab in verse 9:97
« on: December 22, 2013, 04:44:34 PM »
salaam

who do you think the word 'al-araab' refers to in the verse 9:97.
"The Arabs (al-arabu) are the worst in rejection and hypocrisy, and more likely not to know the limits of what God has sent upon His messenger".

is it true that it does not refer to Al-Badawi or Badawiyun, rather the majority of Arab population.
