I too wonder being from a Muslim country where  life is changing too fast..for the worse.
Years ago ,I would have answered you ' definitely in an Islamic country ', but now my answer would be  "after doing your best to raise them correctly, pray constantly that Allah keeps you and your family on the right path where ever you are.

what i find very odd is that both the people who believe that we must break our fast at night and those who believe we must break it at sunset   use the exact same verses / terminology of the koran to explain  two  totally different points of view.

the author of the following  post believes in taking our commandments only from the koran yet he believes that   fasting ends at sunset. i hope his argument helps u in any way. after reading mr joseph's argument ,u can then choose which u feel is more correct to ur heart.

so u mean to say that u consider christians  are mushrekeen  ie polythiest? But Allah never used this word to describe them.

why is there 2 different distributions of inheritance in the same case of kelala الكلالة ( when one has no children or parents) in 4:12  and 4:176.

Thank you.

There are exceptions for marriage - people of the book.  But they also have to have correct beliefs.

if they had the 'correct beliefs" then they would be muslims in the general since Allah separates them in the aya  then it is them with their "wrong" beliefs  He is referring to.

 sorry for the late reply

aya 5 in sura elmaeda says :  And [lawful in marriage are] chaste women from among the believers and chaste women from among those who were given the Scripture before you......... here Allah has put the believing women ie muslim in a group and the woman given the scripture in another group ie the christians and jews......
had they followed" what they were given in truth"  as u stated then they would automatically  be muslims in the general sense so there would not have been a reason to mention them in another i dont really see ur point .

also when Allah spoke in this verse he didn't  specify which group of christians  are eligible for  marriage..He spoke in general ie people of the book ..He did not say "believing people of the book"

u said :  Not those who were given the Book but are seen as polytheists ....  why do u say they are polythiest? sura elbayena  aya 1 definitely excludes them from polythiesm  " Those who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists were not to be parted [from misbelief] until there came to them clear evidence "

i think we can eat or marry form christians in general and the distinction between christians that u refer to is related to Allah's  relation to them not ours...because like i said when Allah allowed us to marry and eat their food He did not mention 'which" christians He spoke of them in general.

another point is that Allah has put both the christians and jews in one group ie people of the book even thu the jews do not belive in the trinity.. so being "of the book " is  stauts given to those with  the  devine book regardless of the trinity issue.

i hope  i am conveying my point clearly
thank  you.

In his article about interfaith marriage ,Mr Joseph said to exclude a person believing in the trinity. But are the christians not people of the book from whom we  are allowed to marry?

Dear Wakas..oh no I dont blame her at all. I leave Allah to judge people..I am in no position to judge anyone...all I was asking was if it is halal  for my son to marry her.

Dear Wakas....i read  and know these verses ..but i am mixed up between the definitions of who is an idolator, who is considered kafer.

what if someone believes only  in a supreme power.does that make him muemin?  this exact point  is my main concern.

Dear Duster..thank you for your reply.. commenting on your last is rare that u find  "people of the book "  (Christians in my country's case because we have no Jewish population) that  believe Christ is *not* in actual real life they are excluded from marriage.

I dont want to go off topic and I am  not saying this  to point fingers at others..I am just showing u how mixed up I am about the definition of who is considered a believer whom we could marry.  what belief makes a person eligible for marrying a Muslim (by this i mean our traditional definition of Muslim ie one  says la ilah ela Allah Mohammad rasul Allah.)
