Islamic Duties / Forbidden Prayer Times
« on: October 01, 2015, 04:54:02 AM »
Aoa,

I have known that certain prayer times are forbidden as per sunnah i.e. during sun-rise and during sun-set as it can match polytheists's worship times of prostrating to sun.

Does Islam forbid us to pray at certain times?

Thanks.

Thank you so much Brother Joseph! You are the best! just a little query, sometimes the pregnancy is completed in 6 months, in that case soul would be present from the 1st week of conception?

Dear All,

Please clear my confusion, as some people say that the weaning period of 2 years and 30 months in the quran stated in the verses 31:14 and 46:15 are apparent contradictions.

Are these really contradictions? or are we not understanding the verses the right way.

Kindly elaborate and give me a chance to oblige.

Thanks a lot Hassan for your inputs, clarifies a lot of things.

However, is one still required to perform ablution every time when gets up for prayer?

Salaam,

It is because both the verses are at different time frames, so when it is mentioned that the prophet does not know who the hypocrites around him are, at that time he didn't know. Whereas in Surah Taubah the prohibition of praying for the hypocrites can only be obeyed if the prophet knew who they were and God would have made that manifest to him.

And how was it manifested to him? Is it by observation of their acts and their behaviors? or was there another factor more instrumental in determining who was a munafiq?

Assalam o Alaikum,

Please educate me, is "Wahi" given to Prophets literal or an idea is inspired to him and he translates that idea into his own words? In other words, is a wahi the exact words of God brought by Gabriel to the Prophet or a basic idea of what to say.

Im a newbie so please bear with me  and my questions, i know they can be silly at times :) Thanks in advance for you inputs everyone.

I have a question which is troubling me.

Allah says in the Quran to Prophet Muhammad pbuh that you do not know about hypocrites around you, but then in surah Taubah, Allah instructs the Prophet pbuh to not offer funeral prayers for them. How would Prophet know who is a munafiq, if Allah says you do not about munafiqs, and how can he know whose funeral prayer he should not offer.
Thanks in advance for your time and efforts.

Aoa,

I have a question for Brother Joseph Islam, i read in the quran "“You who believe! When you get up to perform prayer, wash your faces and your hands and your arms to the elbows, and wipe over your heads, and wash your feet to the ankles. And if you are in a state of major impurity, then purify yourselves . But if you are ill or on a journey, or have come from the lavatory, or have touched women, and cannot find any water, then take for yourselves clean earth, and wipe your faces and your hands therewith. Allah does not want to make things difficult for you, but He does want to purify you and to perfect His blessing upon you so that hopefully you will be thankful.”(Qur'an, 5:6)"

From this verse, i understand that one should perform ablution every time one gets up to perform prayers and what would nullify ablution?

Thanks for your inputs.

Can someone please elaborate and point out the fallacies discussed in the following two links propagated by the traditionalists:

Br. Joseph Islam's input shall be highly revered and i shall be much obliged.
