If a Christian believes Jesus (sws) is divine, then yes, he/she is a polytheist, or at the very least commiting  serious shirk.

Duster: I totally understand your frustration, but its possible that English is not Sharon's first language, in which case it is not within Islam to criticize her for her grammar.
Sharon: I'm sorry but your posts over the last few weeks have been highly confusing. I suggest scrapping the ten or so threads you've created, and just posting a numbered list of questions for forum members to answer more easily.

When I say every thread I mean every thread I'm involved in, somehow even when I'm specifically addressing questions to seniors by name you seems to ignore.
This is a COMMUNAL forum, where anyone can respond if they feel they have something to add productively, if you want personal messages from these people, send them an email, and they can respond if they want. Like i said, ive been fairly non-active here (compared to before) for a while now, so i have NO IDEA where you got this indication from.

everything plus you don't have to insert yourself in every thread (my humble request, very respectfully).
Thank you for your rude comment. This has been the first thread i've commented on in WEEKS, so stop making ridiculous accusations. And (ironically enough), i see you've failed to answer my ONLY question. Yes, I have read the entire thread, for your information.

"Wanderer, thanks for your attempt but your opinion is way off, unfortunately. Also, you didn't answer my simple question is Allama=Arada?"

What did you think was off about my answer? As far as I could tell, your question was, why didn't Allah (swt) give the same opportunity to both the angels and Man to answer his question, which as I explained was to prove a point to the angels. Did I miss something here?

"Please state the verse/s that confirm /imply what you said here:
It is clear from the beginning of the story that the angels saw themselves superior to man "
I did. It was 2:30.
And here:
since angels do not have free will to think and gain knowledge
verse 2:32

Hi Student--
This is actually a GENIUS lesson that Allah (swt) imparted onto the angels. Let me do my best to explain.
It is clear from the beginning of the story that the angels saw themselves superior to man and could not understand why God created us. (2:30) So to show them the reason why, He teaches the names of all the creatures to Adam. He then asks the angels what the names are and they (obviously) do not know, since angels do not have free will to think and gain knowledge. However, Man does, and seeing this, the Angels understand why God created us a worthy creation, despite our numerous flaws.
Let me know if you need me to clarify

I think you already know my views on the matter. I'll elaborate on them later, seeing as I don't have time now. I guess you could draw a parallel between Jews and Christians having their own sy stem and the Quran telling them to judge by their own books. This was also utilized under the classical dhmmi system

Hi Student--
The context i think Wakas was refering to here was the entirety of the surah.

I personally don't see anything "disproportionate", or even a "threat" so to speak. The wives were simply informed of a fact, that God and the angels were on the side of the prophet, and that they better stop causing trouble in the community and greatly hurting the Prophet.

From what I understand, the asbab al nazul on this surah is sprawling and heavily contradictory. I am not sure about the story you mentioned in particular, but I could be wrong.
66:1-2 states that the Prophet had attempted to ban lawful dissolution of oaths in order to please his wives, and was subsequently reprimanded by God.

Because it's not just a "petty domestic issue". The Prophet's household was supposed to be a model of righteousness for the whole community to follow. Therefore, seemingly small domestic issues could actually cause major strife in the community.

Thanks for responding. I just wanted to fully confirm your identity before I answered your comment.
P.S. seeing as how we both have wp accounts, if we have any questions about each other's articles, let's ask them on the websites themselves.

Hi Amira.
A commenter on my blog just shared this website with me:
https://ifoceanswereink.wordpress.com
My question is, is this you? The articles reference this site, that fatal feminist blog, and uses practically the same arguments you used with me just a few days ago, right down to the wording. Anyhow, the site is well made, and the articles fluent, so if it is you, please post your articles here so we can read them?
P.S. Was the commenter you?
