The life of this world is not but illusion?

It appears that the Quran states that the nature of reality is a delusion and the real reality is the life hereafter.

[3:185]  The life of this world is no more than an illusion.

[6:32] The life of this world is no more than illusion

[57:20]  This worldly life is no more than a temporary illusion.

[29:64] And this worldly life is not but diversion and amusement. And indeed, the home of the Hereafter - that is the [eternal] life, if only they knew.

Now when these verses state that this life is an illusion, do they mean that life is an illusion because this life is not what is important, it is the next one--or do they mean that this life is actually an illusion?

Some verses in the Quran state that we will feel as if we have existed on the earth for only ONE day [Quran 20:103-104]. Perhaps this life is like a dream? Or a computer simulation that we will wake up out of after signing the initial contract or covenant with Allah?

I would add another point to yours!

 The question that needs to be asked is:

What is our priority in this life? Who are we really?

Holding on to the illusion of this life and giving it too much importance will be regretted!!!!

[Qoran 54:4] Sufficient warnings have been delivered to alert them.
 [ 54:5] Great wisdom; but all the warnings have been in vain.

[Qoran 18:101] They are the ones whose eyes were too veiled to see My message. Nor could they hear.


Looking after the physical body only(thinking it is real!) and ignoring the soul will lead to failure?  i.e Loosing the "real person" !

[Qoran 7:53] Are they waiting until all (prophecies) are fulfilled? The day such fulfilment comes to pass, those who disregarded it in the past will say, "The messengers of our Lord have brought the truth. Are there any intercessors to intercede on our behalf? Would you send us back, so that we change our behaviour, and do better works than what we did?" They have lost their souls, and their own innovations have caused their doom.


It is like chasing a "mirage"!!!!!  Where and what was the reality?:

As for those who disbelieve, their works are like a mirage in the desert. A thirsty person thinks that it is water. But when he reaches it, he finds that it is nothing, and he finds God there instead, to requite him fully for his works. God is the most efficient reckoner.
وَالَّذينَ كَفَروا أَعمٰلُهُم كَسَرابٍ بِقيعَةٍ يَحسَبُهُ الظَّمـٔانُ ماءً حَتّىٰ إِذا جاءَهُ لَم يَجِدهُ شَيـًٔا وَوَجَدَ اللَّهَ عِندَهُ فَوَفّىٰهُ حِسابَهُ وَاللَّهُ سَريعُ الحِسابِ


Who are we really?  Can we change our priorities before it is too late?
