Marriage

Please can someone help me understand if the following will make a marriage invalid or not:

1.If both the bride and groom do not attend the wedding.

2.If the dowry is spent by the brides family and not the bride herself.

having a wedding is not necessary as per Quran, ergo, attending it is not necessary

if the bride consents to this then that is fine. The dower is for the bride to do as she pleases.
