Aslamaolaikum

My experiences on some forums:

Free-minds.org
http://www.free-minds.org/

Quran first. God alone forum. Good all round range of views. Open forum. Traditional arguments also allowed and discussed.

Ya Nabi
http://www.yanabi.com/

Anything goes, very traditional and often very direct and crude. Be ready to get lynched by outspoken personalities. But views are allowed.

Sunni Forum
http://www.sunniforum.com/forum/forum.php

Pretty much like the above

MPACUK Forum
http://forum.mpacuk.org/

Quite an open forum with a range of views.

Ourbeacon.com
http://www.ourbeacon.com/cgi-bin/bbs60x/webbbs_config.pl

Restrictive, QXP (Dr. Shabbir's rendering of the Quran) only. Anything outside QXP thinking normally disallowed.

A version of the Perwazi School of Thought

Typical ideological beliefs.

(1) Do not believe in ritual salat. Salat is community gatherings / Divine system
(2) Do not believe in Biblical miracles as narrated in the Quran
(3) Do not believe in fasting as commonly understood
(4) Some do not believe in 'dua'.

Salaat Forum
http://www.salaatforum.com/

New forum, seems to be a spin off from the one above. Similar ideological beliefs as above but seems to be more open for discussion.

you could try the UI forum - more  open-minded, though less chatter there:

Thanks will check it out In-sh'Allah :)

You might know others that might be interested in coming to this forum too. Its very new, but the more open forums discussing proper issues from the Quran in a truly sophisticated way, the better. We need more platforms and opportunities I think to gauge different views.

yeah, I dont exactly recollect now what was I searching for when Google sent me here.. be that as it may, Google acted right for once.. :)

I really appreciate the work undertaken by brother Joseph here. Of the forums you mentioned above, sunniforum was scary - I was on it for some time, but they cannot get over the madhhab issue - in fact its more of a deobandi-tablighi forum (so really a sub-sub sect of Hanafis)..
