Muhammad Was not Father of Your Men - Ayat 33:40?
« on: May 25, 2012, 01:56:04 AM »
Dear Mr. Joseph,

S/Alaykum,

33:40 (Asad) [And know, O believers, that] Muhammad is not the father of any one of your men, (rajalakum)

Please can you enlighten me if there is any meaning in mentioning only MALE (rajal)?

Is this verse talking about no male issue or in a spiritual sense/meaning?

Regards

Salamun Alaikum.

This is only a reference to male issue and confirms that the Prophet left no male offspring.

Female progeny is confirmed by the Quran a little later in the verses (banatika - daughters 33:59).

I hope this helps, God willing.

Regards,
Joseph
