May peace be with you.
There is no inspiration (wahi) mentioned in verse 33:37 and from a Quranic perspective, no direct commands were given to the Prophet to carry out any
explicit actions. An incident took place, circumstances were made manifest according to God's will and its explanation was given to the Prophet after the event.
There was something that the Prophet concealed out of fear from people which God brought out into the open. One can assume what the fear comprised given the nature of the verse and wider responses of the Quran which deal with certain elective relationships and implied taboos.
Subsequent circumstances allowed for the marriage with the Prophet to take place which is clear from the verse. The wider intent is made clear that God wanted to clearly demarcate that adoptive relationships were not akin to biological relationships
through the circumstances that were made manifest according to God's will. The explanation of what transpired, why and any tacit admonishment is then communicated to the Prophet after the incident for his reminder and for the guidance of believers to extract wisdom.
Traditionalists assume an elaborate story which they read alongside and integrate within this verse which has no warrant from the Quran.
However, it is also important to note that there are different types of
'wahi' from a Quran's perspective. I have discussed this in the article below
[1]. Inspirations are merely a communication method. There are some inspirations which are received in
a non-prophetic capacity (66:3). The inspirations received for the purposes of Prophetic revelation and 'deen' was captured in the Quran.
I hope that helps, God willing.
