We know from brother Joseph's analysis, a disbeliever is a rejector of the truth and that each community has been given their own way, own scripture etc and that the Bible may not all be distorted.
However, in surah 5-15/16 is Allah not recommending the Quran instead of their old scripture???
Farther in 5-17, is Allah not calling all those who call jesus as God as "desbelievers"??
Other verses have clearly mentioned believers amongst the Christians, few in number, believing in one God, prostrating at night etc. There is a clear distinction between the two types of Christian believers and disbelievers regardless of the rejection of truth or not, maybe it's because God knows  that they can't handle the truth. ALLAH THE ALMIGHTY knows best.

General Discussions / Insurance and gambling

Regarding gambling and trade.
Seller A sells good to buyer B.
Insurer C charges a fixed rate say 5% to insure 95% the goods from damages but has nothing to do with the profit, loss, business input etc

1) is insurer C gambling or providing a halal service?
2) is insure C responsible for 95% of the goods if he is only charging 5% to protect them?
3) is there any hidden riba involved and in Allah's eyes would. All parties be in collusion if there is ?

Jzk and peace. I would appreciate any input.

In 3:45 Allah the Almighty says jesus will be honoured in this life and the hereafter. Is there mention of any other messenger /prophet that will be honoured in the hereafter?
Not trying to make any distinction but just wondering if all prophets/messengers are guaranteed Janna (although I feel no one is guaranteed Janna)
Does the Quran give us any information about which prophets/messengers (if any) are rewarded with Janna?

General Discussions / Views on healing by medicine or faith.

What are the views on healing by medicine or bearing physical suffering as a trial and putting one's trust and faith in God alone?
Does brother Joseph have a view/link on this?

General Discussions / Does everyone need to be a scholar of the Quran?

Brother Joseph has beautiful and concisely highlighted salah here http://quransmessage.com/articles/prayer%20without%20hadith%20FM3.htm

Since we can agree that brother Joseph is blessed with the cerebral capacities and academic juice that most average folk are not, as are many other forum members, how do all of a few 100 million stumble across his site (there might be others) or otherwise decide to analyse the Quran as brother Joseph has beautifully and precisely done (which let's be honest won't happen) so my point being,  is everyone required to thoroughly analyse the Quran to understand how to pray, when to pray, pray is allowed whilst travelling/walking, times of prayer etc and many many other commands of Allah the Almighty that to be honest could be seen as pretty basic and fundamental guidance taken for granted by us.
How are average poor Muslims without computers to understand that all five prayers are in the Quran without being told it?
Are people selected by Allah the Almighty to be guided?
Does every average person have a fair shot at this kind of information? I believe I was guided here through some effort and mainly because It was "Allah Alone" that I praised and had the the Quran at the helm of all my answered questions.
I was always averse to tradition, again putting God Almighty before tradition. Clearly if I had never found this or another Quran centric source I would have been doomed to be engulfed by tradition or maybe not, but I certainly wouldn't have analysed the Quran with the academic rigour that brother Joseph and others have and I am sure that majority Muslims are in the same boat as me, obviously pre Quran centricity.
Would love to hear your thoughts everyone.

General Discussions / Quran ayats that mention or favor the RIGHT
« on: November 22, 2017, 03:54:53 AM »

These verses mention/favor the right (assumedly vs the left). There could be much more similar ayats, I have not checked.
Does the Quran favor right over the left? Why? Or have I interpreted the ayats wrong?

Jzk, Peace and Walaikum Salaam.

I have experienced in the last 20 years some traditional Muslims calling other non traditional Muslims or people of other faith disbelievers.
I have always been of the opinion that a disbeliever or arriving at the opinion that some might be a disbeliever is a highly complex matter and possibly requires millions if not More variables which knowledge only is with Allah the Almighty and that one has to reject the truth in its entirety to be labeled a disbeliver and even then no one but God knows the States of another's heart.
I was wondering if someone calls another a disbeliever for whatever reason, and that person is Completely oblivious of faith, One God etc would person 1 unwittingly be acusing  Allah the Almighty (Astagfirullah) of creating a disbeliever?
If all the boxes have been ticked regarding disbelief i.e a deliberate rejection of one God, his messengers, his books, his commands,  are we then able to label someone/group of people as disbelievers?

Does anyone know if there is a literal translation app of the Quran?
Or what is a good literal translation of the Quran?

Does Allah the Almighty favour congregational 5 daily prayers over single prayer ?
I cannot seem to immerse myself or emotionally connect as much in congregation.
Should we leave self immersive prayer to other than the 5 mandatory prayers or what is otherwise called NAFL salah?

Could someone please explain Maryam 71 and 72?
Will everyone be put in hell, over hell or just brought near hell but then the ones who fear Allah only will be saved?
This verse is a bit of a mind bender .

General Discussions / Healing properties of various foods
« on: November 14, 2017, 03:54:21 AM »
Salaam all
ALLAH the Almighty tells us in the Quran he is fully in control and that we are to put our trust in him alone.
He does also say that honey has healing properties.
My question is, do other foods have healing properties too ? I.e blackseed oil etc
Are we to assume if honey has healing properties then other foods must have too?
Is Allah the almighty not the best helper and healer?
How are we meant to know which food has what healing properties?

Salaam and regards

I recall a verse saying that purification is needed before touching the Quran or something to that effect ?
Is it a requirement to ritually cleanse oneself before reading the Quran?

General Discussions / Purpose of creation

I have come across a couple (at least ) verses where Allah the almighty says he has not created us without purpose or without reason.  Does anyone know what the reason could be?

Is it plausible that this a second chance for all of jinn and mankind to atone for rebellion against GOD?

Are all jinn and mankind the souls of those previously in Janna that then rebelled against God?

Peace and regards

General Discussions / Is yoga halal
« on: October 14, 2017, 01:32:53 AM »
Salaam
A bit embarrassed to ask but here goes.
I was wondering if yoga and some specific yoga poses are halal. For example sun salutation.
Obviously no intention to worship the sun but are such and other poses that could be classified as bowing to certain objects by certain groups or other creeds, classify as haraam or questionable?

Peace and regards
