You said it yourself: No matter what anyone says to you, there is not one verse in the Quran saying you have to do this. This is purely a personal issue between you and them. Ask them what they want you to do, and try to choose the best possible option to please them.

Absolutely. There comes a time when one must mature, get a job, start a family of your own. Still, we should always visit our parents, be kind to them, support them financially, etc. I don't know where you got this idea about living with your parents forever though.

Islamic Duties / Re: No Prayers
« on: October 10, 2016, 08:01:12 AM »
I'm sorry, I didn't meant to cast aspirtions on Brother Joseph's character. I was just shocked how someone could claim to follow the Quran and say this. So how do they try to justify this from the Quran??

Islamic Duties / No Prayers
« on: October 10, 2016, 06:42:56 AM »
Salaam everyone. So I've seen, all around this website, rebuttles from Joseph Islam of various Quranist groups who allegedly reject prayers, fasting, etc. My question is, who are these people??? Do they even really exist?? Personally, I have a hard time believing it.

Yes, that's it. Did you gain any insight from it?

Dr. Jonathan Brown wrote a great article on it recently, dis you see that?

He didn't include it because it has no necessary  connection to the topic.
With all due respect, the burden of proof is on YOU to tell why it should be included in the article, before you lecture Joseph about "representing the message of the Quran to his readership".

Also--
"Please note that Allah said in this verse "and placed     the prophethood         and the scripture       among their seed". Since Mohammad is a      “Prophet”,    and Allah sent to him      the scripture “Quran”,           therefore, he is automatically from the offspring of Abraham as to what the verse is telling us."

How?? The verse is clearly dealing with LITERAL offspring, not 'SPIRITUAL'

"Please read the verse carefully, Allah told Moses that    “a prophet LIKE you”.         Therefore the Prophet that Allah spoke about must be like Moses. Jesus is different than Moses. Moses birth was naturally, he came from a father and a mother, while Jesus came from only a mother. Therefore, indeed the prophet that Allah spoke about here is Mohammad."

And Muhammad (pbuh) did have a virgin birth??? Please think about this carefully. Jesus (pbuh) has FAR more in common with Moses (pbuh) than Muhammad (pbuh) did.

General Discussions / Re: Can Muslim women marry Jewish Christians men?

It seems you are in agreement, then, with Joseph's article. No Muslim (male or female) can marry a person who associates others with God. With all due respect, I do not see what your issue is.
PS: I also hope you also know that modern-day Judaism DOES NOT believe Ezra/Uzair is the Son of God. Such a belief was only ever a fringe practice of some of the Arabian Jews of the Prophet's time.

Hi Yahya-
A friendly word of advice: Please stop creating tons of new threads everyday based off of the exact same topics. Everyone here wants to help answer your question, but that becomes extremely difficult when you insist on doing this! In fact, doing this will probably make it more difficult for you to get the answers you want. If nobody is responding to your posts-- have patience. It'll come eventually.

Yes, it does. "Fighting in the sacred months is (only) for Agrsession committed in the sacred months..." In non sacred months you are allowed to fight because of things like repeated broken treaties and forced expulsion. However, in the sacred months, fighting is only in response to a direct assault (that was commited in the sacred months themselves). Do you get it now?

A desperate situation would be when someone is DIRECTLY attacking you and you have to respond. Go see 2:194.
