Salamun Alaikum, Br. Joseph!

The word Farj appears in Al-Anbiya, Chapter 21, Verse 91 and At-Tahrim, Chapter 66, Verse 12 . . What does the word mean? - A Christian told me that it means a vagina/pussy.

ومريم ابنت عمران التي أحصنت فرجها فنفخنا فيه من روحنا وصدقت بكلمات ربها وكتبه وكانت من القانتين

If we use a translator:

Google translate:          Her vagina
Ginger:                          Her Vagina
Bing Translator:             Her Vagina
SDL Free Translation:           Vagina

Farj - Pussy, Relief, Vulva.

So, are majority of the translations wrong when it comes to this word?

Sahih International
And [the example of] Mary, the daughter of 'Imran, who guarded her chastity, so We blew into [her garment] through Our angel, and she believed in the words of her Lord and His scriptures and was of the devoutly obedient.

Muhsin Khan
And Maryam (Mary), the daughter of 'Imran who guarded her chastity; and We breathed into (the sleeve of her shirt or her garment) through Our Ruh [i.e. Jibrael (Gabriel)], and she testified to the truth of the Words of her Lord [i.e. believed in the Words of Allah: "Be!" and he was; that is 'Iesa (Jesus) - son of Maryam (Mary); as a Messenger of Allah], and (also believed in) His Scriptures, and she was of the Qanitin (i.e. obedient to Allah).

Pickthall
And Mary, daughter of 'Imran, whose body was chaste, therefor We breathed therein something of Our Spirit. And she put faith in the words of her Lord and His scriptures, and was of the obedient.

Yusuf Ali
And Mary the daughter of 'Imran, who guarded her chastity; and We breathed into (her body) of Our spirit; and she testified to the truth of the words of her Lord and of His Revelations, and was one of the devout (servants).

Shakir
And Marium, the daughter of Imran, who guarded her chastity, so We breathed into her of Our inspiration and she accepted the truth of the words of her Lord and His books, and she was of, the obedient ones.

Dr. Ghali
And Maryam (Mary) daughter of Imran, who kept safe her private parts, (i.e., safeguarded) so We breathed in it of Our Spirit, and she sincerely (believed) in the Words of her Lord, and His Books; and she was one of the devout.

So, does this word mean (Vagina, pussy, vulva etc.) or does it mean something else? Can you please help me here?

Salamun Alaikum, Br. Joseph!

The earth is spherical, thus how are some people facing the ka3ba? If the earth was flat it would be possible for all to face it.

Top-left: Due to the sphericity of the earth, a prayer in any direction will point towards the sky/outer-space, not Mecca.

Top-right: People who are located on the opposite 'side' of the earth would have to pray vertically down towards the center of the earth, and would also blaspheme against Allah, because they defecate toward the direction of the Ka'aba when they answer the call of nature.

Bottom-left: If we use the traditional Muslim method of determining qiblah (i.e. a great circle) this would still be blasphemous because you would be simultaneously praying with your face and backside aimed towards the Ka'aba.

Bottom-right: There is one point on the opposite 'side' of the earth where any direction for all 360 degrees would be facing 'towards' Mecca and consequently, there would be no one direction that would be the correct one.

Salamun Alaikum, Br. Joseph!

All your articles are superb and easy to follow. 10/10. God bless! But, I've not seen any articles on hell (I maybe missed)
There is a verse which I have some problems to understand, maybe you can help me!

It was a Christians who sent me this verse, with his own observations. .

 We read from Quran 19:67-72

(67) - Does not man remember that We created him before, while he was nothing?

(68) - So by your Lord, surely, We shall gather them together, and (also) the Shayatin (devils) (with them), then We shall bring them round Hell on their knees.

(69) - Then indeed We shall drag out from every sect all those who were worst in obstinate rebellion against the Most Beneficent (Allah).

(70) - Then, verily, We know best those who are most worthy of being burnt therein.

(71) - There is not one of you but will pass over it (Hell); this is with your Lord; a Decree which must be accomplished.

(72) - Then We shall save those who use to fear Allah and were dutiful to Him. And We shall leave the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers, etc.) therein (humbled) to their knees (in Hell).

Please NOTE that verse 72 again:

Then We shall save those who use to fear Allah and were dutiful to Him. And We shall leave the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers, etc.) therein (humbled) to their knees (in Hell).

OBSERVATIONS:

1. Who are those who use to FEAR Allah and were DUTIFUL to him other than the Muslims?

2. Where will they be saved "FROM?"

3. If the unbelievers were "LEFT" in Hell, this indicates that those who use to fear and were dutiful to Allah where REMOVED from that same place.

------------------------------

What my Christian fellow try to assume is that we all Muslims will enter hell! What does 19:72 really mean?

General Discussions / Apostasy in 'Sunni' Islam..
« on: April 17, 2014, 01:10:48 AM »
Salamun Alaikum, brother Joseph!

I've the volumes of Sunan An Nasai (hadiths)

Today I read hadiths about apostasy.  I got disturbed.. There were many hadiths that said if a person leaves the religion, kill him!
The Ulema/Scholars explain this by telling us that in Islamic Law if someone leaves the religion and THEN rebels or attack the Islamic government/religion then we have the right to kill him. The explanation the Ulemas give, can it be true? And is it allowed in the Qur'an?

I also read the commentary in Sunan An Nasai and exactly the same thing is said.. If someone rebels after he became an apostate THEN "according" to Islamic law it is right to kill that person.

Now is this explanation right? Even Dr. Zakir Naik gives the same explanation..

So is this true according to the Qur'an? If someone apostates and then rebels is it right to kill him? And is their explanation right?  ???

So what is it? Kill him after he rebels or kill him directly when leaves Islam? I'm confused  :-\

General Discussions / Qur'an, 48:18
« on: April 15, 2014, 12:50:45 AM »
Salamun Alaikum! Brother Joseph..

I've been reading your articles and your forum. I want to say thank you! I was convinced one month ago that bukhari & co were not to be followed. Alhamdulillah.

But I have some questions.. If we don't follow ahadith then how will we know about these verses/Surah? Surah 111 and verse 48:18.

Who is Abu Lahab in Surah 111 and Who are the believers that gave bai'a under the tree in 48:18??
Is this important to know? Because many bukhari believers ask this questions and I have no answer to give them.

Can you please shed some light?
