Remuneration for Religious services

Salaamun Alaykum,

Does Quran permit taking fixed and/or negotiating salaries and remuneration packages for rendering full or part time religious services like Imam, preacher and now a days taking Quran teaching as a profession and means of not just living but a thriving business (Bayyinah.tv for example, without any malice or prejudice) ?

Of course any insight from the previous scriptures will be treated a bonus
