Salam Brother Hamzeh

A side note regarding your response. I thought it was not said by the people as you mentioned.  `Some said 300 years some said 309 years.` Rather it was a statement by the Almighty and a very powerful statement indeed.
18: 25 And they remained in their cave for three hundred years and add nine.

please correct me if i am wrong.

Salam.

Hope, these verses were already taken in consideration where it is said that one of the features of day is `visibility'. At sunset visibility still exists. Doesn't it? (This is also pointed out in brother Joseph's article.)

10:67  He is the One Who made for you the night that you may rest in it and the day giving visibilty. Indeed in that surely (are) Signs for a people (who) listen.
27:86  Do not they see that We have made the night that they may rest in it, and the day giving visibility. Indeed in that surely (are) Signs for a people (who) believe.

The translation should be like this, i think.

004:001
O mankind! Fear your Lord, Who created you from a single (Wahidatin) soul (Nafsin) and created from out of her (minha) her mate (Zawjaha) and spread from these two (minhuma), many men and women; and fear God, by Whom you demand one of another (your rights), and (to) the ties of relationship; surely God ever watches over you.

Dear Forum Members
Salam.

We generally think that God created the first human being as a man, not woman.
Now have a look in the following verse:

004:001
O mankind! Fear your Lord, Who created you from a single (Wahidatin) soul (Nafsin) and created from out of it (minha) her mate (Zawjaha) and spread from these two (minhuma), many men and women; and fear God, by Whom you demand one of another (your rights), and (to) the ties of relationship; surely God ever watches over you.

Here the word 'wahidatin' with a 'ta marbuta' indicates a female source. Anyway, we can avoid it as an irrational being. But the very next pronoun 'minha' clearly indicates that the first human being was a woman. And God created the second human as her mate.

I am not so well in arabic, Please correct me, if I am wrong.

I find no contradiction. Jesus (PBUH) made the statue with Allah's permission to perform certain miracles. This permission he didn't want but was given (like Moses). Other permission he asked to perform another miracle to satisfy certain people. Nowhere it is said that making statue is forbidden. Otherwise verse 34:13 would be difficult to understand.

They made for him what he willed: synagogues and statues, basins like wells and boilers built into the ground. Give thanks, O House of David! Few of My bondmen are thankful.

If Jesus did all miracles voluntarily then why did he prayed to God for `the table spread from the heaven' instead of doing it voluntarily also?

5:112 When the disciples said, `O Isa, son of Maryam! Can your Lord send down to us a table spread from the heaven?' He said, `Fear Allah, if you are belivers.'
5:113 They said, `We wish to eat from it and satisfy our hearts and to know certainly you have spoken the truth to us and be among the witnesses.'
5:114 Said Isa, son of Maryam, `O Allah, our Lord, send down to us a table spread from the heaven that it may be a festival for us- for the first and last of of us and a sign from You. And provide us and You are best of providers.

In another post it is also argued that :

There does not appear to be any physical presence that manifested (before Zakariya) such as in the case of Mary.

But this article does not include verse 3:39 where it seems a dialogue was going on.

Thanks.

Though this does not deal regarding direct communication, I hope this article by Brother Joseph would be helpful in a way :

Dear mohammed
I don't find anything wrong with translation of His name in different languages if the meaning is not deviated. In fact Quran itself is a translation book when it narrates the stories and dialogue of other people/nations.

And yes, I think we can translate His other names and even can create/use new ones also if it suits/harmonizes with His glory. As you said, "we are allowed to call our creator as He ordained". And He ordained us to call Him with with most beautiful names. (7:180).

Hope I didn't miss your point.

Salam to All

One question came to my mind that whether anyone can be clean by rubbing dust or soil on his face and hand (Thayammum), if water is not available? Or there is any other meaning of this term?

Analyzing the uses and roots of related three words ( Thayamm’m, Saaeedan and Thayyaban) in the Quran some are suggesting that, "we can presume this to mean to use vapour water from the preparation of food or something of that nature for rubbing face and hands when we run out of water to purify for salat."

This suggestion is also seems problematic. If there is no water then how one can cook food and use the vapour? Or, you have to wait for a cooking to have vapour for Thayammum? But salat is time bound.

Any thoughts?

When we say Einstein is the greatest scientist or Mother Teresa is the greatest humanitarian, what do we mean? We must not compare them with all the beings of the universe. Do we? These are all but expressions.
We know what we mean.

And Allah knows what's in our mind which actually matters (as said in the Holy Book).
