GOD gave us this instruction for " salat":

يٰأَيُّهَا الَّذينَ ءامَنوا إِذا قُمتُم إِلَى الصَّلوٰةِ فَاغسِلوا وُجوهَكُم وَأَيدِيَكُم إِلَى المَرافِقِ وَامسَحوا بِرُءوسِكُم وَأَرجُلَكُم إِلَى الكَعبَينِ وَإِن كُنتُم جُنُبًا فَاطَّهَّروا وَإِن كُنتُم مَرضىٰ أَو عَلىٰ سَفَرٍ أَو جاءَ أَحَدٌ مِنكُم مِنَ الغائِطِ أَو لٰمَستُمُ النِّساءَ فَلَم تَجِدوا ماءً فَتَيَمَّموا صَعيدًا طَيِّبًا فَامسَحوا بِوُجوهِكُم وَأَيديكُم مِنهُ ما يُريدُ اللَّهُ لِيَجعَلَ عَلَيكُم مِن حَرَجٍ وَلٰكِن يُريدُ لِيُطَهِّرَكُم وَلِيُتِمَّ نِعمَتَهُ عَلَيكُم لَعَلَّكُم تَشكُرونَ

When we observe salat we prepare as follows:

(1) wash your faces,
(2) wash your arms to the elbows,
(3) wipe your heads, and
(4) wipe/wash your feet to the ankles.
Then If you were unclean...  "junuban" you shall bathe.
If you are ill, or traveling...etc...
and you cannot find water, you shall observe the dry ablution (Tayammum) by touching clean dry soil/rock, then rubbing your faces and hands. God does not wish to make the religion difficult for you; He wishes to cleanse you and to perfect His blessing upon you, that you may be appreciative.

GOD has not given any instruction on what to wear. when you pray As far as I know.

You wear what is comfortable if you are in your own home praying, or what is modest if you are praying with a group.

GOD has given instruction about  dressing " modestly "  elsewhere in Qoran.

That is my understanding.

Interesting, you mention [2:238].

For me,Ithinkit can only mean "salat" as part of our daily remembrance of the Creator.Why?

The verse after makes it clear for me:( my own opinion/understanding is in brackets)

[2:239]

Under unusual circumstances ( If you fear you are going to miss salat?), you -may pray -while walking or riding. Once you are safe,(  you have normal facilities) you shall commemorate God as He taught you what you never knew.
فَإِن خِفتُم فَرِجالًا أَو رُكبانًا فَإِذا أَمِنتُم فَاذكُرُوا اللَّهَ كَما عَلَّمَكُم ما لَم تَكونوا تَعلَمونَ

If we put he verses together, we find they have one thing in common(Highlighted and underlined)
[3:164]
God has blessed the believers by raising in their midst a messenger from among them, to recite for them His revelations, and to purify them, and to teach them the scripture and wisdom. Before this, they had gone totally astray.
لَقَد مَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَى المُؤمِنينَ إِذ بَعَثَ فيهِم رَسولًا مِن أَنفُسِهِم يَتلوا عَلَيهِم ءايٰتِهِ وَيُزَكّيهِم وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الكِتٰبَ وَالحِكمَةَ وَإِن كانوا مِن قَبلُ لَفى ضَلٰلٍ مُبينٍ

We provided them with the proofs and the scriptures. And we sent down to you this message, to proclaim for the people everything that is sent down to them, perhaps they will reflect.
بِالبَيِّنٰتِ وَالزُّبُرِ وَأَنزَلنا إِلَيكَ الذِّكرَ لِتُبَيِّنَ لِلنّاسِ ما نُزِّلَ إِلَيهِم وَلَعَلَّهُم يَتَفَكَّرونَ

[16:64]
We have revealed this scripture to you, to point out for them what they dispute, and to provide guidance and mercy for people who believe.
وَما أَنزَلنا عَلَيكَ الكِتٰبَ إِلّا لِتُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ الَّذِى اختَلَفوا فيهِ وَهُدًى وَرَحمَةً لِقَومٍ يُؤمِنونَ

Because God states that Quran (Last scripture) alone was all what was revealed to prophet , and was all what this honest prophet delivered, uttered/recited, followed, or reminded with:[6:114],[8:27],[45:6],[5:50]...

GOD also reminds us that HIS words never run out:
Everything We Need
[18:109]
Say, "If the ocean were ink for the words of my Lord, the ocean would run out, before the words of my Lord run out, even if we double the ink supply."
قُل لَو كانَ البَحرُ مِدادًا لِكَلِمٰتِ رَبّى لَنَفِدَ البَحرُ قَبلَ أَن تَنفَدَ كَلِمٰتُ رَبّى وَلَو جِئنا بِمِثلِهِ مَدَدًا

I think the " hikmah" is contained in the scripture.This is my understanding.
