peace brother Joseph,

You may find this helpful,

In 9:42 the term لَّاتَّبَعُوكَ not giving negative meaning.

47
When do you think the four sacred months are?
Probably in-between winter and summer solstice. because in this time most of the wild animals carries infant embryo in their bellies, restriction on hunting is needed in this time since humans cannot identify them(especially in the initial stages of the embryo development) from animals which are not pregnant. It illogical to think that a true believer will hunt/kill an animal that is with babies i.e. no restriction needed after giving birth to the young (summer).

Quote
What kind of calendar do you uphold, a luni or lunisolar one?
Solar (17:12), Ramadan, Hajj are also based on seasons as I understood. Full moon/s and moon phases are to mark the start/end (to count the days) of Ramadan, Hajj etc.

48
Ramadan is in July when there is a scorching heat, and the 3 other holy months follow after Ramadan?

peace,

in my understanding, Ramadan will not occur in Al Shahr Al Haram, because

1) According to 9:3, the 4 full moons are for Hajj, and since there is already sawm in Hajj,(for those who cannot find an offering -2:196) Ramadan(sawm) cannot occur in Hajj (Qur’an does not mentions such a condition of interpose). For example 2:184&185 says special cases/situations(illness, travel) for postponing the sawm in Ramadan, but it does not mentions Hajj/sawm in Hajj as a condition/situation.

2) Summer can’t be a restricted period since 9:81 speaks about going for fighting in the heat, (there is no fighting in Al Shahr Al Haram -2:217, exception -2:194,179).

peace,

Quote from the article,
"It is quite possible from the above verses that an 'insaan' is only complete once the spirit of God is blown into him. This is what would separate Adam (as a man and 'insaan') from his state as a 'bashar' or any physiological state that resembles a 'bashar'."

but,
18:110 says prophet Muhammad as bashar
19:17-18 angel took the shape of bashar seems Maryam was also bashar (or female pair of bashar), which confirms in 19:20
In 23:23-24 Qur’an mentions prophet Nooh as bashar

Yes, slaughter by remembering God's name /God's mercy on us and doing the process accordingly (e.g. preparing the animal for slaughter without harm)

Shalom / peace.... how did you get to that conclusion? Do you have any evidence please? .....

peace Duster,

I don't know what this term exactly refers to, so I consider it in this way

Do you think halal certification (if animals are treated in a good manner i.e. no cruelty) =approved by God?
Most of the halal certified slaughter houses will have traditional Muslims for doing the process. But in a traditional Muslim view, meat will become halal by just pronouncing/uttering the name of God while slaughtering (many traditional Qur'an translators translated 6: 118, 119 & 121 incorrectly). Qur'an used the root dh-k-r in 6: 118, 119 & 121 which basically means remembrance/bear in mind, not just uttering. The word used for the Swalat in Qur'an also has the same root (e.g. 20:14). I believe that no any such certification can assure the state of one's mind. And the person doing this job will be slitting hundreds of animals/birds within few hours (i.e. continuously, for long time they are doing only this cutting job!). Will they be able to slaughter each animal/bird properly?.
And this is applicable to any food with animal based (slaughtered) ingredients like gelatin (e.g. foods like marshmallows, jams, jellies, cakes, ice creams etc.

The verses 6:118,119 &121 does not mention slaughtering specifically, so

'on which God's name has been remembered' may also mean Fair Treatment throughout farming as well as during slaughtering. [God's name-The Merciful, so 'remembering Gods name' may refer to kind treatment to animals?]

Diary
Artificial Insemination -Cow will not get the approach of its male partner,
no male-female mating communication no natural mating, instead human hand/special devices deposit the sperm
after delivery in the growing stages, usually calf will not get enough approach of its mother as in natural systems, no proper care from mother and no proper time for mother-child communication/ love- may be for the whole life time of the dairy cows!

If you burn an innocent person intentionally,...

peace,
Please don’t use/ try to avoid such kind of unhuman/hard-hearted examples.

Quote
If you burn an innocent person intentionally, his body structure will be defaced. That does not mean his deeds result him to face this.

GOD has given us free will to lead our lives as we wish, but the outcome of each of our actions is governed by the will of GOD - THE JUST, THE MERCIFUL. If God does not will for something to take place, it will not happen no matter how hard we try. And if He wills for something to occur, it will transpire no matter what we do to stop it.

If X harm Y intentionally/unintentionally, it happens because GOD -THE JUST, THE MERCIFUL letting X to do so, and Y deserves it.
But if Y do not deserves it/is innocent, then GOD -THE JUST, THE MERCIFUL will NEVER let X to do it.
Even if Y deserves it /is a sinner, X will definitely get punished by GOD for this evil deed (if he did it without cause /valid reason).

“...And if it were not for God defending the people against themselves (some of them with some), then the earth would have long been corrupted; but God has bestowed grace upon the worlds.” [2:251]

“...And your Lord is not at all unjust to His servants.” [41:46]

Do you think GOD is JUST only in the hereafter? Not in this world?

IS GOD NOT THE MOST JUDICIOUS OF THE JUDGES? [95:8]

Please note that, verse 42:30 is talking about facing any sort of misfortune/ trouble / difficulties that could be the result of one's mis-deeds in earthly environment. Troubles/Misfortunes like Loss of money, rejection from societies, capital punishments etc., but not Injuries in WAR, any accidental damage (Fallen from Horse/ from tree or drawn in river), Sickness or Loss of nearest one etc.

This is what an example how one can modify Qur’anic interpretation according to his own desires!

According to you, sicknesses, injuries in war, accidental damages etc. will not come under the misfortune mentioned in 42:30??? (also see 30:36, 30:41, 5:49, 4:79 etc.)
Can you provide a valid reason for this categorization?

Is GOD not seeing/knowing such ‘accidental’ things? (It is ‘accidental’ only in human view, but for GOD, everything is by HIS wills).
And is HE not able to save these people from such accidental things if they are innocents?

peace,

I think ‘muhlisan lahuddeen’ is a rarely discussed Qur’anic term

[39:2] We have sent down to you the Book with the truth, so serve God faithful/loyal/devoted the system to Him.
[39:11] Say: “I have been commanded to serve God, faithful/loyal/devoted the system to Him.”
[39:14] Say: “God is the One I serve, faithful/loyal/devoted my system to Him.”

And they were not commanded except to serve God and be faithful/loyal/devoted to His system, monotheists, and hold the swalat and contribute towards purification. Such is the straight/ valuable system. [98:5]

Say: “My Lord orders justice, and that you set your faces at every temple/Masjid, and that you call on Him, while being faithful/loyal/devoted to Him in the system; as He initiated you, you return.” A group He has guided and a group have deserved misguidance; that they have taken the devils as allies besides God; and they think they are guided! [ 7:29-30]

[15:39-42]
He(Iblees) said: “My Lord, for that by which You have caused me to be misled, I will beautify for them (what is) on the earth, and I will mislead them all.”
“Except Your servants from among them, the faithful/loyal/devoted ones.”
He(Allah) said: “This shall be a straight path to Me.”
“For My servants, you shall have no authority over them, except those who are misled and follow you.”

Also see (40:14,65, 12:24, 19:51, 37:40,74,128,160,169)

So what is 'muhlisan lahuddeen'? Qur’an demonstrates it in the following verses

He is the One who enables you to travel on land and on the sea, until when you were on the ships and We drive them with a good wind which they rejoice with, a strong gust comes to them and the waves come to them from all sides, and they think that they are (being) surrounded/encircled, they implore God faithful/loyal/devoted to His system: “If You save us from this, we will be of the thankful.” [10:22]

When they ride on a ship, they call on God, faithful/loyal/devoted the system to Him. But as soon as He saves them to the shore, they set up partners. [29:65]

This is the human’s state of mind (only)WHEN disasters/ difficulties come from all directions i.e. No escape (e.g. when their doctors are helpless, they will sincerely call GOD).
But for a true believer, this (GOD Alone) ‘state of mind’ is in his Whole life (in ALL Affairs) as commanded by the Prophet(s).

Islamic Duties / Re: Juma vs Zuhr
« on: March 22, 2019, 03:49:18 PM »

peace w3bcrowf3r,

More appropriately, social affairs/ responsibilities I think.
For example, S-L-W in 9:84 may denotes things which one has to do for the diseased in the society.
See occurrence of the root W-S-T in [2:143] here it used to denote the quality of a community - ummatan wasathan (modest community/balanced nation).

It is a command to keep up the just/balanced/modest approach in affairs, but not limited to family affairs.

@Sstikstof,

Thanks for the reply :)
But I’m satisfied with my belief, and I have enough experiences from my own life to believe so. If you disagree, each to their own.

There are different interpretations of the word "hoor". Even Joseph Islam's article mentions the meaning of the word "hoor" encompassing both male and female genders.

peace,

I agree with this.

For example see verse 16:97

"Whoever does righteous deeds, from a male or female, and he is a believer, We will make him live a good life and We will reward them their dues with the best of what they used to do."

Even though there mentioned both male and female, still comes he is a believer, We will make him

May be some alteration in the rules of Arabic grammar? For achieving Arabian desires/goals?
Because as we know, most of the traditional translators are/were followers of Arabs especially of the Saudi Arabian Sovereign system. (even now most of the people with ‘Muslim’ label are not following the Qur’an, they are followers of Arabs)

But anyway such things will not affect a truly believing man/woman or their life because, Qur’an is the guidance for the muttaqeen [2:2]

And who are Al muttaqeen?

“The righteousness/obedience is not to turn your faces towards the east and the west, but righteousness/obedience is one who believes in God and the Last Day, and the angels, and the Book, and the prophets, and he gives money out of love to the relatives, and the orphans, and the needy, and the wayfarer, and those who ask, and to free the slaves; and he carries out the swalat, and contributes towards purification; and those who keep their pledges/ contracts when they make a pledge/ contract, and those who are patient in the face of adversity and hardship and (during the) time of the war/hardship. These are the ones who have been truthful, and these are Al Muttaqoon.” [2:177]
